Default Philips X710 : The Candy Bar Styled Dual SIM Phone

The Philips X710 is another Xenium series phone which can be rightly placed under the mid range price bracket. The phone has been designed in monochrome and the look of the phone is quite dashing along with its mind blowing features like dual SIM facility and wonderful multimedia. This is not a 3G phone yet some features in this phone are spectacular and rich in their own quality and style. The device is designed keeping in mind the ergonomics of the phone thus creating some kind of anxiousness on the mind of the onlooker to check out the features.

Philips X710 claims of some great specs in this triband phone for both the SIMs and is expecting a good market share in the market with light weight feature and QGVA 2.4 inches large display. The device is equipped with 20 MB inbuilt memory. There is a card slot to extend the memory to 8GB which is very rare in such phones. More than Philips X710 is powered by GPRS, EDGE for high speed web access. There is no WLAN but powerful Bluetooth with stereo facility along with USB1.1 and WAP browser 2.0/xHTML. It can easily record 30 missed, dialed and received calls.

Most of the features in this phone are similar to it sister X620 but the phone has some additional features like EMAIL features and 3 installed games with download features. The camera of same caliber 3.15 MP is also sported with auto focus and faster video recording. Some other notable features in Philips X710 are – Image editor, Java MIDP2.0, music platform with MP3/WAV/AAC player and wonderful for video footages with its MPEG4/3gp player. You can stay tuned to the local FM station and enjoy the music with other with built in hands free. The talk-time of this phone too is expected to be marvelous like the X620.

Dual SIM phones can accept two SIM cards. You can set one SIM as primary while other as secondary. By default all ougoing calls will route thru primary SIM unless you sepecifically select the SIM card.

Both SIMs are active. Of course, you can only use one SIM at a time.

Dual SIM phones could be GSM+GSM, GSM+CDMA or CDMA+CDMA.

Dual SIM phones are of great convenience to persons like me who carry two cell phones. I am think of buying Samsung D-880 for quite some time now. Just haven't gone around to make the actual purchase as yet.
