    ^ Which one?? Diamond?? Nice!

The differences betwen diamond and touch 3g are: Diamond has a vga screen, accelerometer, 900 mah battery, 4 gb inbuilt storage, cannot add memory cards

Touch 3g, qvga screen, 1100 mah battery, can add memory cards..

I too would ve gone for touch diamond if not for it's battery performance or the absence of memory card slots

^ well it depends on your needs...

well vga screen means the resolution is more (qvga is 320 *240 and vga is 640 * 480).. but the screen sizes are same at 2.8 inches... The only diff is the videos and pics will appear more crisper at higher resolutions...

Both 3g and diamond have the same processors, but diamond will run relatively slower cos the cpu will have to work harder to push more pixels in the screen (4 times more cos of higher resolutions), and diamond's battery is notorious for draining fast...

i needed a fast cpu for running all the medical books and apps, and i needed large storage space which shold be expandable, and i needed a battery that lasts me for nearly 2 days... 3g satisfied all my needs..

i don watch movies that much on mobile so i really don care about lack of vga screen, and i'm not a fan of accelerometer (shake to shufle songs, play games etc) so i don miss that much...

if u see movies, pics a lot on phone and if 4 gb is enough, then diamond is good enough for u

Well all over the world diamond is sold as a 3g model with additional front camera for conference calls...

But for some unknown reason (maybe they din think 3g will come to india ), Touch Diamond sold in India is NOT a 3g phone and it doesnt have a front camera too...

Well edge does work here... dunno bout 3g cos din try it...

well HTC phones are mostly sold as carrier locked ones abroad (thats why we get late releases here cos people in india prefer unlocked ones), u can make a carrier locked phone work in india by unlocking it, but good htc unlocking sites and forums will charge u a fee for the unlock like 50 $ (2500 rs)

It's up to you to decide if it's worthwhile...

If ur brother gets a originally unlocked phone from abroad, say america, and even if it doesnt work here, u can make it to work by flashing custom asia roms (i can guide u to do that, after u buy)

HTC phones cost nearly the same amout all over the world, so it's simpler to buy em here IMO..

I'm not aware of the iphone much... but well it' is sold locked in most places, you will have to unlock it to use in india.. But there are good free software to unlock iphone safely...

Iphone 8 gb = 10,000 approx (with contract)
Iphone 16 gb = 15,000 aprox (with contract)

So it's worthwhile if ur gonna buy iphone outside n unlock it here

Nah mate... those are the contract prices in US... They sell the phones cheap but make money by selling data and voice plans for a high price (contract)..

I heard u ll have to pay in advance the contract price for 1 yr, in us... the contract price would be abt 50$ pm... (not sure).. so the total price woiuld be 200$ (for 8 gb) and 12 * 50 = 600.. totally 800 $ for a year Got the prices from at & t website, they r the U.S prices...

Forget iphone and get diamond... Best choice if u don care about 3g and happy with 1 day battery life

I doubt the i-phone 3G has been released in india ?

and the main problem with diamond would be its maintenance ..... it looks superb .. but is very difficult to maintain

Bro, Diamond 2 and pro 2 will not be available here anytime soon, and they are sold locked in other countries...... HD should satisfy you

^ and he is talking about maintenance of diamond... It has a glossy surface so prone to fingerprints, spots etc... u have to probably wipe it often to keep it clean... That's it
