i am thinking of buying this thing

This is first spice model i am buying.its arnd 2200......all features are there on the link. coz this is my first model of spice, so i am lil bit confused.what u ppl say? are spice handsets good ( in terms of battery backup, performance, speed etc).......is any one here on IBB having spice & this particular model.

BTW spice claiming that the memory is expandable to 2gb max. but i heard that its not good to use the max supportable memory with the phone, it makes the phone slow when memory is full. is it?

last, i am not really fan of multimedia mobiles this thing is coming in 2.2k (300+ for mem card), hence me buying. i really don't wanna buy anything expensive than this. so if u wanna suggest something else, just remember 2.2 k as limit

yes this is a "OK" basic model.
I have sold more than 20 sets by now (In my shop) and have hardly come for any problem. The battery is a bit doubtful as its back up of continues talk time is less than specified, it comes for max 2 hrs and if used for call continuously it gets warm which is not a good sign.

So i say if you dont use phone much then this is very good handset, but like i mentioned if you use for high talk time then its not the wise choice.

Why dont you have a look at Micromax ? Their batery back up is very good and in 2.5 - 3.0 you will get phone with cam

Just goto Just Dial - India's No.1 local search engine select city as hubli and right side company name and copy this "Haripriya Tele Mobiles (Navanagar)" you will get it

Phone looks nice, but the only problem you may face is that it will only take spice sim cards and in case you want to change your sim card you wont be able to!

You can also go for a Nokia 2360, which is around Rs3500 and reliable!

But the phone you have chosen is also good, as long as you like it and it has everything you need its ok!

spice handsets are generally not locked and sold as open handsets usable with any SIM
for a basic phone its ok. but please remember the price and expect quality in tune with that price range only.

yes as said above, spice handsets are sold as open phones, they are not locked to their own company. They can be used with any SIM cards

Guys i am a cheap phone freak.
I mean i could have purchased a nice one phone of nokia.but i purchased many phones.(currently i have five phones)my last purchase was Spice.and i think its the worst one too. The battery back up is sick. Phone recharges very slowly. The mp3 player is good. But the phone isnt that tougher. The phone doesnt work nicely as usb device on vista computers. I think if want to purchase an mp3 phone you can also buy macromax.the battery is superb. The phone has nice mp3 video and camera. I have seen it with my friend.
My personal choice is my Nokias. I own four nokias. And my biggest choice is my current phone nokia 3110c.it has 2gb support ext. Mp3,mp4,amr,3gp,java,jar,s40 O.S,FM,Gprs,edge internet on pc access,works as usb device,1.3mpxl camera. The cost was 4500 at my time. Now its around 4000. The phone is die hard. And i use it as another laptop. With gprs it rocks. Write now i am using opera mini for writing this post.

Oh you are purchasing the 580. I just saw your link. Please don buy it. You will cry like me. It has sick gprs.sick battery.sick machine. The two things are its torch and mp3 fm.just this. Please don buy it.it damaged my memory card.

No im not sure about it, i made a random guess as i just assumed it, as sometimes phones like Reliance or Vodafone just take their own sim cards..................!!!!!

Ok guys......i got ur points......i was in market last night........i came across the Samgsung 1410. here are its details : GT-E1410 Specification - Samsung Mobile India. i love the body of this phone. company is giving it with 1gb card. twas very tough & handy.
I almost decided not to buy the spice thing, coz i feel its body is really fragile. anyways any takes on samsung 1410. is its battery backup is what company claiming.

BTW, i am thinking abt the micromax too, but there is not good range of micromax in my city here (aurangabad). Plz note that i really dont need camera or anything more than mp3 & fm

@ Kiran: This guy offering me samsung 1410 @ 2.7 bucks. is it ok price or should i bargain.

It looks a good one surely better than the spice one, when choosing a batter just look how many mAH the battery is having the higher the better. As this model is of 1000 mAH i am sure it will give you talktime atleast for 8-9 hrs easily. About the price just wait for a few hours and ill confirm the price at which i am getting it here so on that ill tell you the price.

sorry mate from 12:45 AM 2-june-09 till 5:15 AM 3-June-09 there was no net connection all over hubli, as there was some Optical Fiber cable damage.

KK i am planning to send my iphone 8gb chal muje bhi help kar.. kitne mein jayega? its 8gb.. not a single scratch on it.. 5 -6 months old.

There is no Samsung 250 i in my area and no idea about it, i searched a few sites for the details of the modem but didnt get it. As soon as i get the details ill update here.

anyways......i got SamsungE1410. the fone is good......only its music player is pain in the ass. when u listen to music thru music player.......it dont allow u to do any other activity........WTF. means u can't minimize the music player. Also there are max 4 playlists available & only files on the music folder in "mem card" can be played one after another & can be added to playlists. for the mp3s in the remining folder i need to click on every song & after one song finished, i need to play next manually.

i will post some reviews in samsung section.......but for 2750 bucks fone is fine. :d
