Rep Power: 1 | Well now we get up to 8 mega pixel mobile phones, how good do you think it is getting a camera mobile phone, regarding its quality focus and clarity. Is it more useful than carrying a digital camera around? I have a basic phone which has a 2 mega pixel camera, the pictures turn out to be quite good. But have not yet seen pictures taken with a higher mega pixal phone. |

| Platinum Member | With the small lens and aperture, anything beyond 3 MP will be meaningless. There is an excellent thread by Rameshjee on cameras and you will understand why. So do not pay more for mobile phone simply because it has 8MP camera. Buy a cell phone for overall features. |

| This is the thing that I always used to wondered alot. How come such a small lens makes a difference, but I am not totally ruling out the performance, the quality of picture taken by a 8 MP camera will be surely somewhat better that a 2-3 MP camera, but still I am not in favour of spending extra bugs of high resolution mobile camera. |

| Platinum Member | The CCD of the camera is so small that it is maybe less than 1/8 th size of your little finger nail. Small lens means no zoom or digital zoom only. Small aperture means that you cannot take portraits - where the background can be blurred to enhance the person. But for landscapes and long shots this is OK.

| I am using N72 which got 2 MP camera and I am very happy with that. There are moments (mostly unexpected) in life which you really want to save, 2 MP camera serves the purpose very well. |

| Digital camera has its clearity! the picture taken by 7MP Digital camera is much better than 8MP camera! comparing life of both the life of Digital camera is more than Mobiles one! Mobile camera life is depend on how much we use it & where we use it. for Digital camera it doesnt matter! |

I have Nokia 3110c. It has 1.3 pixel. I think if you go about quality the mobile is poor. But if general photography is meant definitely its the best. Last edited by mickey; 07-28-09 at 08:15 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost | |

| Senior Member & Mod | i meant for 2mp only. I read her post thoroughly. I think 2mp is enough if your camera phone is nokias Se or samsungs. For others i cant say. But if she wanna upgrade her mobile than i think she can definitly go for a 8mp or something like that. I use a Camera for professional or travel tour photography. I don rely on camera phones for such purposes. Camera phone for me is boon for general day to day pics. |
