Thread: Mobile browser for not so smart phones.

First of all guys, lets know which are the not so smart phones according to me.
Not so smart phones comprises out of the s40 java enabled phones which cannot run .sis applications. I found s40 phones much better than the s60s. So we are talking about Mobile browsers for these phones. So a typical s40 phone will have a j2me backbone. With prior java cli.01. This phones can run Opera mini4.2, Teashark, Ucb web, Gorilla, Hanghai, Morange, Mineut, etc etc. These all browsers have multi tab support. And with nice Gprs speeds these all work flawlessly.

....how to deal with a browser....
Take Opera mini for example. This browser has nice supports for download, multitab, auto fill address, history, save pages, etc. But all these features have no meaning if your gprs is too slow. So to coup with it you can do these things.
1. Make your settings as fontsmall or medium, mobile view, content folding if supported, images to low or no images.
2. Sometimes a network maynot support Socket support. So change your setting to http.
3. When you don know any address or want to know something. Use the browsers inbuilt Google search. It is proxied and works without taking any efforts from you.

Actually this one is not a browser. I feel its browser code is taken from opera mini3 Or ucb web. The browser images should be disabled. And http can be used to get out of Socket problem.

This browser is loved by many Indians for its rich multi tab features. But i dont like it much cause its slower than Opera or Tea. But as there are very less browsers for your mobile. So this should be respected. To increase speed. Disable bigger fonts. Change fonts to smallest. Change image quality to lowest or no images. Http should be ticked on. Increase cache memory. Change internet connection to Direct to internet from the default Monternet.
