I am interested in dual sim dual standby mobile.
any brand will will work.
price max 5k.

For 5K, it will be difficult to find a dual SIM mobile.

You have not specified whether you want GSM+GSM or GSM+CDMA or CDMA+CDMA.

Samsung D-780 is a good dual SIM GSM+GSM mobile and is around 9K. Samsung has also a slightly advanced dual SIM model, D-880 (slider model), which is around 11K.

You will get GSM/GSM or GSM/CDMA basic phones (with FM may be) with dual stand-by from Fly and few other manufacturers around 4000.

I need GSM+GSM.
how far are the micromax or similar ones would work.

It will be better to go for known brand companies even if it means paying a little extra.

is spice work for you?
i dont know much about them but i see one phone its GSM-CDMA.
it is tough to find Branded GSM-GSM phone near 5k.

as per Just4kix said you go for Branded Mobiles if you dont want you can use China mobiles too.
you can use fly too.

they are good if you want phone for only calls & message

theres are dual sim mobiles in spice, micromax and chines ones...

none to be gone for..
better have two mobiles.. or pay 9k for a samsung one.
