Thread: apple : third in largest smartphone makers list !

Apple is now third largest smartphone maker courtesy it’s revolutionary iphone. The iphone was launched just about 3 years back and is already ranked third in market share just behind Nokia and Research In motion (blackberry maker).

Nokia still is the leader with launch of new range of phones like the N97, N97 mini and many more.Apples is reported to have sold 1.7 million phones accounting for 5.3 % of the market share.

These report was released by IDC a research firm and is valid for the year 2009 . This revelation is not very surprising as apple with their innovative ideas are out performing all. The iphone has been received well and loved by all for its great designing and support of so many applications from the app store .
Now that apple is in the top three it has the difficult task of taking over blackberry and nokia.

Nokia is leader not due to N97 but 1600 , 1100, 3310 ,3315. Express music is good also.

You didn't get the connection. If I have used simple nokia mobile then i am more likely to use its smart phone.

^^ whatever connection it maybe, but basically cause of the die - hard phones like those you mentioned only Nokia won the place in the hearts of people.. and also the smartphones which it brought....otherwise the place of No1 was deserving to Motorola/

Windows OS is the real productive OS for mobile. I am waiting for windows 7 mobile OS.

About Nokia, I still remember how slow it is even when opening SMS Inbox. N70,N72 all same.....slow .........
About sound and camera, SE is best in this class.
