    Default Touch screen phones

Touchscreens are getting more and more popular. Google, apple and many other major brands are into manufacturing touch screen phones . But I personally don’t like touch screens.
Its really hard typing things for a long time using touch screens. I love buttons too much, I guess that is because iam not used to touch screens and it takes really long to get used to them .
It takes hell lot of time to even type simple words and I make so many spelling mistakes when I type on them. I prefer touchscreen only if there is additional keypad too.
Making calls and sending text messages is such a pain on my acer betouch that it lies in my cupboard shiny and new even today !

Do you like the idea of touch screen mobiles ?

As I am not very much comfortable with touch screen phones and I needed a good qwerty pad, so I recently bought SAMSUNG corby PRO with full qwerty keypad with touch screen. And moreover I like slide out QWERTY instead of bar QWERTY phone so corby is good for me.

To enjoy the touch screen phone kranti Samsung has launched many phones like samsung star and many more models. Samsung star is around Rs 7K INR thats is affordable for new generation guys/gals.

If you want true touch screen with Wi-Fi, in-build GPS, large memory storage and good camera quality pictures and large screen then Nokia 5800XM is the ultimate one, its cost has also reduced to Rs. 13,600/- INR. that is good buy.

SAMSUNG Corby PRO costs 11900/-(you may even get a better deal) and gives the same facilities too + full QWERTY pad--and most of all really nice battery back up.Got one a month back

    • Wifi
    • BT
    • A GPS(tested)
    • 3.2 MP cam(50-50-not good not bad)
    • 3G+(tested and works good)
    • full QWERTY keypad-big enough keys
    • almost all social networking widgets on the home screen
    • 2GB card provided(enough for me)(not very sure but at least 8GB support, may be 16GB)
    • sony style earbuds with 3.5mm jack support which are further detachable so that you can play using your other head phones and stereo speaker systems
    • full HTML browser(very very flexible with touch zoom in zoom out)
    • youtube video streaming is good-tried it connecting with my wifi modem to access internet
    • also tried opera mini 5 beta(works smooth),but the inbuilt browser is better
    • only problem is no stylus -so you may have problem if you have really big fingers but the keypad is big enough to compensate
What do you need more in 11900/- !!!!!!!!!!!

    my bad, should avoid it.

    Its End Of Life.

The phone is more than 2 years old now...it will probably need a refresh soon, prices would be more or less same too.

Damn, you have a windows mobile and asking for another such phone. I can understand how its difficult to type on touch screen mob. But you know what is the reason?

    1. The default keypad that your acer betouch has might not have good accuracy.

    2. You should increase your touch screen sensitivity by reg editing (Yeah one of the advantage of windows mobile)

    3. Get a good keypad, world's fastest typing on mobile is made on a touchscreen phone!! u just need a keypad which has highest accuracy for that ofc u know google is ur friend.

    4. There are some keypads which provide u multikeypad including qwerty, compact qwerty and also phone pad.

    5. There is one more type of keypad available for windows mobile in which u just need to slide or swype ur screen, touch the screen on a letter and then slide ur finger to another letter then to another to form a word, in this way u can reach upto 50wpm also !!!

    Hope those tips help you.

But now I'm using a touch screen phone ,I can control the screen very well.I think it decided by which phone you are using, not each should cost your much time to input.

All depends on the Screen type. Resistive touch panels like in Nokis 5800 and C6 are difficult for typing, where as capacitive touch panels used in most of the phone now like HTC Wildfire, C7, N8 and iPhone are charm to use and typing on them is so easy. I am used to of typing on my Wildfire and iPod Touch.
