I have tried the express music touch phones from nokia and I own a corby pro from samsung. I bought it after a lot of R&D .

    I definitely like the corby.
I have tested by myself .

    • The maximum brightness of screen of nokia express music is equal to 60% of brightness in samsung corby .

    • The touch screen of corby is far better than express music and the features such as touch zoom on photo and zoom in zoom out in browser are really very user friendly.
    • Nokia only offers zooming through scroll bars but samsung offers zooming any where on screen.
    • camera quality is almost same
    • Video playback quality is simply superb in corby than any phone from nokia in 18k-20k range. I have even tried the N97 mini(about 21000/-)
    • only advantage is that nokia phones have 16:9 aspect ratio and corby has 4:3
    • I was really dissatisfied with the touch screen performance of the express music phone
    • I am not very sure about the office applications' extent of capability of express music and other touch phones from nokia but both corby and express music have the facility to at least open all common document formats like PDF, DOC, PPT etc, but............. corby pro has better support for HTML pages saved offline
    • People may vow over the simplicity of nokia phones but my view differs. Where the folder structure and file handling in corby PRO is as simple as that in any PC with XP, the nokia phones can give you real hard time on the files transferred through BTH and other means such as internet downloads, saved offline pages etc. For example I transferred two files, one HTML and one JPG(used in that HTML file) to both the phones to check the capability.--to my surprise the HTML file opened as quickly and easily without having to change any directory or anything in Corby, but I couldn't even find the files saved in nokia, it just showed me that these files have been received through BTH and then the HTML file opened with a blank space in it(picture missing) , then I tried to save the files in one folder so that the HTML file would at least work properly, but couldn't find the saved file after 30 min of R&D
    • I am not a very big fan of music, but the corby PRO comes with a good set of earbuds(like in sony) detachable to accommodate 3.5mm stereo headphones or speakers
    • my main aim was to get a decent slide out qwerty pad(not a big fan of bar qwerty phones) so that typing would be easier as I use my phone generally for checking mails on the go and replying to them.
    • third party application support- there is no doubt about the application compatibility of nokia phones, just through it in the memory and it would run unlike samsung phones, but OPERA min 5 beta worked quite well on Corby and as did the ebuddy messenger
    • corby PRO has 16GB support and came with 2GB card(no idea about current offerings), nokia also has same capabilities
    • corby has 3G+, no idea about nokia- forgot to test
    • I bought corby PRO for 11900/- but the prices may have gone down by now
    • I have seen some new nokia phones providing motion gaming- samsung would disappoint you there, but corby PRO has a few good tricks left to surprise you, first is active call silence- just flip over the phone and the ringing phone would go to silent mode instantly, active video playback too has similar features like turning parallel to the viewing plane due to motion sensing
    • nokia does not offer multi(customizable) home screen feature like Corby- only phone that offers that other than SAMSUNG is HTC
    • there is one problem(not major) though with corby- you may have to change the default memory for BTH,cam etc everytime you switch off your phone, but as the phone has about 100MB or more free space(total phone memory with OS is about 214MB) on the phone itself so no need to worry that much
    • Where nokia phones are handsome but this corby PRO is really a stone faced wrestler(meaning-not very good looking)very oddly shaped(does not bother me till it serves the purpose).
    • the provided software in both are good, but you may seldom use them unless you sync your outlook etc with PC and all-- both nokia and samsung have Mass storage device mode in them- so just plug in and your memory card will show up on PC
    • Corby PRO has Wifi so as express music 5800, but not sure about the latest 5530
    Comparison here

I never expect a rep while posting something.
Just need your love and support.
    Don't feel sorry.

And as far as touch screen is concerned , just consider it as an extra, specially in a hybrid phone like corby pro with a full qwerty keypad. You can do all the operations from keyboard as well. It is wiser to go for a hybrid than going for a fully touch based phone.

Even if your touch screen goes doomed(highly unlikely to happen unless you keep punching all day for a year) still you can use your keyboard to navigate to every corner of the phone.

Today I am really tired, will search tomorrow and tell you.

Actually you should ask why not?

How many phones do you see in market which are feature rich and cost-effective at the same time?
Second question is usability or you may say user friendlessness ?
Now the real question- what do you need ?

    A good GUI
Good voice, video and call quality
    preferably good looks
    Large memory support
    A good camera
    Good post sales service
    More accessibility
    Nice set of applications

As youR price range is 12000 max

I don't see a phone from any brand other than SAMSUNG that fits the bill. But I have given a mixed set of choices what I feel are the best ones.

Nokia service is terrible. I have suffered till I lost my phone in a cab. 2 repairs, each of at least 30 days.

Although I have Corby PRO, I would give a second though to Nokia 6208 Classic .

Prices mentioned below are not very accurate. Current prices may vary. Content borrowed from Priceindia.in.

If I narrow down the selection:

    • corby plus--
      • no wifi
      • QWERTY keypad
    • corby pro--
      • wifi
      • QWERTY keypad
      • a bit bulky
    • express music 5800--(out of question as you need keypad)
      • wifi
      • no keypad at all
      • slim
    • express music 5530--(out of question as you need keypad)
      • no wifi
      • same as 5800
      • but no wifi
    • 6208 classic--
      • no wifi
      • with normal keypad
      • a bit bulky
That lands us at last three:

    • corby pro
    • corby plus
    • nokia 6208

but if you need wifi , better battery(960mAh) and a better camera within 12000/- then nokia 6208 and corby plus are gone, so now finally we have

    • corby pro
      • 3G/HSDPA 900/2100 MHz
      • Quad Band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz
