Default Dual SIM GSM Mobile Phones

Somebody told that in most of dual sim mobiles, if you are talking to somebody on SIM-1, then SIM-2 will appear switched OFF to others.

Please confirm if this is true?

If this is true then it is wrong as others will complain of switch OFF. It should come as CALL WAITING on other SIM.

Please suggest if there is any mobile which give CALL WAITING on other sim when first sim is in use

The mobiles which will give call waiting on other sim when first sim in use are available they are of branded costly ones like samsung, the other cheap dual sim mobiles like Fly, Karbonn and chinese mobiles will show sim 2 switch off or not reachable when you are talking on sim1

Is that (calls on one SIM not available while other is in use) such a big issue? How many times does that happen?

And let us say that the phone allowed both SIMs to be active at the same time. Even in that case, is it possible for any (normal) person to talk to two parties at the same time?

You don't get a switched off message - you get a busy tone.

Thanks guys for taking interest in this topic. Yes it is very important that SIM-2 should not come as switch off when I am talking on SIM-1. First impression is that people feel that you are out of station and complaint that your cell phone comes switched off :-)

If it says call waiting for other, then its convenient. I will get call alert and can always call back.

Till now I saw Videocon, Karbonn, Fly mobiles. None of them says CALL WAITING.

Can anybody suggest me the right mobile with CALL WAITING :-)

Sorry to local and chinese mobiles

My dad has Samsung Dual Sim phone and its like

2 sim's are active together, so you can receive calls on both your sims, but while calling you have to select only 1 SIM as default, if you want to switch to other sim, you have to restart your phone after selecting other SIM as default.

You need not restart your phone to make outgoing calls using the SIM2 for Samsung Dual SIM mobiles.Just dial the number on the screen or select the number you have to call and just click the SIM Switch over button on the side. Now the SIM2 is activated. Now you can make the call using SIM2.If you want to switch back again to SIM1,just dial or select the last dialled number and press the side button again.Unless you go back to SIM1;SIM2 will remain as the default.

    Cheers

Thats correct with Samsung. Now you do not need to restart phone to switch sims. Previous Samsung models had that limitation, but now it has been rectified.

As of now only Samsung offers call waiting on other Sim. Rest all mobiles show either switch off or not reachable (like Videocon, Spice, LG, Karbonn, Micromaxx, Fly).

Previous Models are being D780,D880.In these model details I'm not aware.
But C3212 onwards this problem is not there.I'm using C5212 as my secondary phone. As a secondary phone the only drawback for me is that the battery backup

Now another interesting model came from LAVA.Its of GSM+GSM or GSM+CDMA Dual SIM.That is either you can use GSM+GSM or GSM+CDMA.Have to get the call waiting details..

AFAIK It is not a Chinese one,but Indian..You can browse trhough www.lavamobiles.com.What I heard is that LAVA is good in performance compared to chinese counterparts.Especially LAVA A9.But A9 is GSM+GSM only.I've not used, but seen.Very slim one.The GSM+GSM/GSM+CDMA is LAVA KKT30.

You can't compare the quality and stability of these new companies with Nokia, Samsung, SonyErricson.

All these mobiles like Spice, Videocon, Karbonn, Lava, Micromaxx, Onida etc have good features but you don't know when they stop working. There are many cases where phones start behaving badly. Just google and you can see lots of complaints about these new mobile companies. It will take couple of years for these companies to provide stable phones.

That saying is wrong, the Dual SIM card phone is very convenient, that would not happen swiching off.It just like like using a one SIM phone, only different is you can have two choice, you can choose use which SIM to call or send sms etc.
Besides the Sumsung,China is the origin place that most Chinese phone are Dual SIM.
