Has IMEI No really helped anyone

I hope we had all gone through this situation, where IMEI no doesn't do anything good at all!!
Even though its said that it helps in tracing the thief, or even to block, has anyone got their mobile back??? Seems getting the work done with our police itself will consume the cost of mobile with all the bribes involved!

Now with smart phones most of our email accounts and IM services are synced with the device. What to do if you lose your phone, and you havent had enabled the password or pattern lock?? The one who gets your mobile would be able to access all your information, may be even your bank statement (if you have one in your email)

Keeping this in mind, I would advise all smart phone users to install some kind of mobile security and anti theft software like Avast.

Ive only heard that IMEI number helps in tracing a phone but never seen it happen!

The best thing to do when your phone is lost or stolen, is immediatly change all your passwords for every account you had used on your mobile phone.

I know some phones have face verifcation, which is very safe, but can hackers get into a phone which used face detection aswell?

No if you use one of those anti theft softwares. I'm currently experimenting with Avast, it wipes out the data if its stolen, and a new SIM is inserted. The best part is, once the new SIM is inserted, it sends a message indicating the number of that SIM to our "Friends" number! Also if the data is enabled, it even sends the location!! Isn't that wise??

Thats preety good. Im impressed with the fact that when a new sim is inserted that number gets sent to a contact of yours.

Any idea on how much the anti theft software is?

Ive got to get one of these then!!! Nevinjohn any idea on how much Avast is? Im assuming that because your testing it you have brought it!!!
