Default Palm Treo 650

I have Palm Treo 650 which I used in USA with their wireless carrier "CINGULAR" operating on GSM technology. Now that I have moved to India, I am unable to use my TREO. Can anyone tell me what needs to be done and where it can be done in and around Delhi?

Thanks

If you got that handset in a deal from Cingular then it is probbably locked so that you cant use it with any other operator..
Another possibility is that its not a triband or quad band handset and Indian gsm operators use a different band then mobile providers use in USA..

In case it is locked by Cingular there is a solution and that is : Go to Gaffar market near Karol bag and go to any big mobile shop and they will unlock the phone for you so you can use it with any operator. They should not charge more then 400-800 Rs depending on how you are dressed If you go there with your slippers on and uncombed hair you might be able to get it done for Rs100 there is a lot of scope for bargaining so don't get ripped off.

Best of luck. but do make sure that your phone works for the frequencies used by Indian operators before spending money on unlocking it.

Alright I just checked with someone and he says it is working fine in India.. So all you need to do is get it unlocked.

Please dont quote me on this.. make sure with the shop you go to.

Thanks

You can get your tero unlocked from any good local mobile shop and you would be able to use your handset here in india with any GSM service provider. I think unlocking should take somewhere 500 to 1,000 INR.
