    Default Moto X Play

    Hi guys,
Last week I purchased a Motorola Moto X Play from Flipkart at 18,499 INR and I'm going to share my experience with it.

    1) Display

The display on my phone is a 5.5" 1080p FHD display. The colours are bright and vivid. Watching movies on my phone is a charm, and both audio and video quality is crisp. No complain with the display so far and colours are pretty natural and saturated. I would give it 4/5 in terms of display.

    2) Camera

Camera on my phone is a mighty 21 megapixel shooter and it snaps some amazing daylight pictures. However, low light pictures are a bit noisy but its negligible. The only thing that doubts me is the 21 megapixel camera, I mean pictures clicked by it are pretty amazing but it doesn't seem to be shot by a 21MP camera. Still, I would rate the camera 3.5/5.

    3) Battery

The battery on my phone is a huge 3600 mAH battery. Pardon me if I wrote the battery figures wrong as I dont remember exact figures, it would be a little here and there. Anyways, on moderate usage my phone's battery lasts for more than one and a half day. I'm not a heavy user or gamer so I don't know how long it lasts on heavy use. I would rate it 4/5.

The call quality is also very good on my phone and there are no complaints from my side in this regard.
If you are planning to buy any phone in this price bracket, I would recommend you to go for this one, you won't regret.

Thanks for this candid review, @waqsi. So, the only thing you are a little bit dissatisfied is the camera quality. Have you checked if the properties are set at the maximum. Sometimes it happens that it is not set for the maximum picture quality. But a 21 mega pixel camera should be more than enough to get quality pictures. How is the video quality and front camera? And most importantly how much did you pay?

I think the device boasts of excellent battery back up and display quality as per your review. These are two important factors to be considered while buying a phone. I think the main reason why Motorola is left behind is their low marketing techniques. They should make their presence more visible to enjoy a high share in mobile handset market.

Nice review. For some reason I never think at looking at Motorola devices, probably because the very first mobile I had was a Motorola, and while I never had any problems with it, I always remember it being a bit tricky to navigate around the menus.

Clearly they've come a long way from them days so maybe next time I'm in the market for a new device they might be worth checking out.

@webworld I would not say that I'm dissatisfied with the camera as it captures some great pictures. I just feel the pictures doesn't seem to be captured by a 21 megapixel camera, but still the quality and detail of the pictures come out to be very good. I'm fully satisfied overall.
@Pwarbi I also had a Moto Razr in the past. In those days, Motorola had a strong hold in the market due to the sale of its Razr series. But then, Nokia overtook Motorola and later, Nokia was overtaken by Samsung with the launch of a new OS known as 'Android'. I think Motorola phones are not complicated anymore and are very easy to operate. You get almost a stock Android experience with all recent Motorola phones and a very minimum bloatware apps such as Motorola migrate and few other safety apps.

The Moto X Play performance is very good but not exceptional. Run better with 3GB of RAM to take full potential terminal. Below you can see the results I had with the X Play in AnTuTu, worse than expected by many users. However, the user experience can not be measured with numbers and I assure you that is more than satisfactory.
