Default iPhone is going to be in India in 2008?

I have read some news elsewhere that Apple is going to launch their iphone in India and china, two of the major market for mobile phone industry. I also read that they are going to launch it, like you can use it for any provider in India, unlike in u.s. where only AT&T users can use it. If it is true, then it could be the great news for those iphone lovers in india, who are very eager to lay their hands on it.

You can buy an iphone for Rs17000-18000 from Gaffar market in Karol baag at Newdelhi. The phones are also available sealed in boxes and also used ones which come even cheaper.

Once they are launched in India officially I am sure the prices will drop a lot

Default Cool iPhone

I got one from my cousin in UK. He paid there £180 (Nearly Rs14400). Its cool. But seems bit heavy and not easy to carry. But it is a real tiger among the latest gadgets. Nice display and what I love the most about it is that to unlock the key pad, I just need to drag my finger on the screen. Cool!!! I love it. Even if it costs 20000, I would say... go ahead.

I hope some shops would soon try to get the ipones in bulk. Once they are in the market, the wholesale price would drop as Apple might start producing them in china.

No you wont get a bill or any paperwork.. it will be a cash only transaction and the moment you step out of the shop there are no guarantees.
I have been buying electronics and some other stuff from Gaffar market and never ever had a problem.
I am not too sure if apple has a service center in India but I am sure there are a lot of places which would repair your phone if anything ever went wrong. These guys at Delhi can even get you spare parts which are not available in India else where.
And if you do buy an iphone trust me you will be looking to buy another phone in a years time so don't worry about repairs and all.. who get a mobile phone repaired?

I would be looking forward to go with Chinese mobile phones in which you can also get a duplicate of Apple iPhone for around 4,800 rupees rather then spending 16 K on this handset.

Original is always original and remember this thing. I will still suggest you to get a original hadnset if you are looking for some good and reliable hadnset.
