There are no other companies except Samsung and Spice which provide good dual sim mobiles*

*conditions apply: there are 25 companies as i already mentioned. Out of these Micromax, rage, airfone, karbon, intex, zen etc etc etc are running their businesses only on the dual sim market. Their prime business is duals. So you may look also onto their products as well. Intex, zen have come out with qwerty based keypad mobiles for chatters that are clones of blackberry and n900. Intex and zen also support java but heap sizes are unknown. But you may look into these too. Intex had been an old mouse and other accessories maker from the times i had been in tenth class. So i like it.

Intex ace 6611 and zen z77 are new phones with qwerty java and gsm+gsm. Good phones with looks as blackberry

Intex ace 6611 Also supports 92mb internal memory. Video conferencing facility. Can be used as a webcam. Also has some inbuilt applications like messengers and opera mini. Its good at this price of 4.5k and looks are excellent. Its a clone of E72

I will suggest you to use Nokia mobile phones as a Dual sim mobile. They have awesome battery timing and full of great features. The lifetime of Nokia mobiles is much more than any other mobile phone. Also they are very strong, many of my phones have been dropped down by kids. Even then they work fine because they were of Nokia. That's why I trust Nokia as my best phone provider and recommend my friends to buy it too.

I had a Motorola Razr D3, it was a dual sim phone and I do not have any problem with durability. Motorola has interesting phones like Moto G 2nd and 3rd generation with a good system. Well, I recommend it!

Either Motorola and Nokia provide really good quality phones... This thread is really old but I hope that if someone has the same question come here and read the answers to the opening post.

Nowadays either Nokia and Motorola aren't that known, they droped a lot in the market and Samsung dominates it, the truth is that Samsung is providing good quality phones as well. In the end is just a matter of preference, Nokia, Motorola and Samsung all provide really good quality!

It's true that nowadays Samsung is providing a lot of latest quality mobile phones. They have latest features, unlike any other phone available in the market. However they are costly too, not all people can afford these mobile phones. Therefore many people prefer other brands instead of Samsung, especially Nokia. Because Nokia offers a lot of cheap handset, so that people can fulfill their needs of having a mobile phone.

I also know a couple of other people that are using the dual SIM phones but for me I'm not sure if I'd be able to justify the extra expence.

To have two sims, I'd need two contracts so for me it wouldn't work out cost effective.

I think use of multiple SIM use up your battery too fast. I use a basic Samsung model which has a good battery backup of 4-5 days when there is only one SIM is inside the handset. But when I started using two SIMS (two different telecom service providers), it is draining too fast. I mean it will be alive only for two days or so. There is a steep reduction in battery power holding capacity from 5 days to 2 days. May be because the device has to work separately to connect two different service providers.

Dual SIM facility is really a blessing in certain areas if one of the SIMs does not work properly. We are at free to use the SIM which got a good signal strength.
