There is so much hype about this phone, but from reading the specifications there is nothing special about it. Its an average phone and there are so many others like it, even other mobile companies are competing their new launched phones with the Moto E.

Moto E is definitely one of the best budgets phones around. However, there were many features missing in Moto E such as camera autofocus, Front facing camera etc. But, that's something one could compromise considering the price. The Moto E 2nd generation is a very good budget phone which was launched as a successor to Moto E. I feel Motorola phones are the best in the market right now.

I think you are right. Motorola produces some of the best models around, but it is very unfortunate that people hardly notice Motorola products nowadays due to the hype created by Samsung and Apple. Motorola is also not focused on marketing their products. With good branding, they can still be on the top. But I don't know what is holding them back? I was really surprised to see a recent research report which says LG, Motorola and Nexus are the best Android phones that release regular security updates. Even Samsung is behind them in this aspect.

I still remember the famous ad of Motorola which says "Hey Moto" and it was really popular those days. May be now they don't have enough funds for advertising?

Motorola have indeed been around for a long time now, but the manufacturer definitely falls in to the 3rd tier of smartphone manufacturer's these days.

While the range they have is adequate for most people and if your on a strict budget they're with looking at, but I think when buying a smartphone Motorola will be down the list of ones to consider.

Moto E is a nice Phone, but there are options most interesting at market. I would say that the Asus ZenPhone 5 is much more interesting. It has camera, Internal Storage, CPU and display much better than Moto E. In addition, costs about the same price. I've read on some websites that Moto E has problems with performance. While, Asus Zenphone 5 has a bad battery life.
