Arrow 3 G speed and connectivity in south delhi please read

hi all, i was searching how to configure mtnl 3 g on my N79 from last 1 month but last night by mistake i learnt how to do... lol...
so i'm shearing this to all.
when we got seting for 3 g from custumer care they send a lot of setting about 11 settings including hsdpa postpaid, prepaid, 3 g gprs prepaid, postpaid and all.... save them all, dont set anyone as default, just save them

now change your phone to utms mode only. make sure you r getting full signal of 3G, if u are not getting full signal try to stand of roof, in clear sky you will get full signal. then select accesS point as "TRUMP GPRS" and use internet and now you r using 3G service... YES acces point for 3G is trump gprs not all other point. set that as default for all other application.

if u dosent have TRUMP GPRS acces point, i'm writing settings.

    connection name : TRUMP GPRS
    data bearer: Packet data
    Access point name : gprsppsdel
    user name : mtnl
    prompt password : No
    password : mtnl123
    authentication : Normal
Homepage: http :/ /localhost/ home . wml (thread not allowing me to post url)
    advanced settings
    Network typr : IPv4
    phone ip : automatic
    dns address: automatic
    proxy server address : 172.16.31.10
    proxy port number: 9401

save these seetings and set as default, change your network as utms only and you can access 3G on your phone.

when i was on roof with proper signal, i was getting amazing speed 140 kBps per second... that was really very fast, all pages were loading extremely fast less than 2 sec. even http: //ww w.songs .pk]Songs.PK - Latest Bollywood Songs,Songspk,Pakistani Indian Movie Songs,Hindi Albums,Download Free Indian Songs[/url] which takes 2 minute on aircel gprs in loading.
please note. i was not getting constant speed of 140 kBps. speed was between 20 kBps to 140 kBps.
but then also it was really beyond my thought. a song of 6 mb downloaded in 2 minute only....

i was thinking of getting broadband connection as i was very disturbed from aircel gprs which gives me 10 - 20 kBps speed.
now i'll not get broadband, as my dad have that mtnl 3 G sim but he have nokia 1100. so no use for him, although he reacharge 310 rs. every month for vidyarthi plan so gets 100 mb free every month, now i'm thinking that i'll continue my aircel internet which gives unlimited download at 98 r per month
but speed suffers. i will use it for normal use, and whenever i need high speed i just need to change my sim card.

    i'm geeting following speed:
    in aircel

    lowest speed 1.5 kBps
    highest speed 20 kBps
    normal downloading speed 5 kBps
highest downloading speed 25 kBps (mostly in night after 12 a.m)
    lowest downloading speed 1.5 kBps

    in MTNL

    lowest speed 10 kBps
highest speed 150 kBps (that if i'm not wrong = 1.2mbps)
    because 1 kBps = 8 kbps
and its really like broadband speed.
normal downloading speed : 50 kBps
    highest downloading speed 120 Bps
    lowest downloading speed 20 kBps

highest means when u'll get full signal
well its nt constant even if u get full signal. it frequently changes...
also phones battery goes low very fastly (2 or 3 hours) onutms network if u are using or downloading something.
alos phone gets heat up if u use for downloading lot of data.

HOW TO USE 3G ON NOKIA PC SUITE OR OVI
    just edit some settings
    access point : gprsppsdel
    user name mtnl
    password : mtnl123 and ok....

please post your quiries, speed you are getting and all you want to share.

    thanks.

Thanks for the info. I thought *my* battery was getting old.
One time I tried WiFi + 3G simultaneously (sharing phone's 3g through WiFi on laptop), my full battery discharged in ~ 30 minutes. WHILE CHARGING!! yep.

today i recharged with 18 rs. for 200 mb, and i was shocked with speed i got.....
youtube mobile application.. it was working very smoothly like i'm watching some tv on my phone, when i cheched my speed it was 25 kBps per sec, means 25*8 = 200kbps wow it was amazing, when i checked it on speedtest.net on my computer it was showing 21.9 kBps and uploading was 11.5 kBps, i downloaded a song and 5.6 mb song downloaded in just 3 minutes... wow... now i'll not go to mtnl 3 g because its really costly and on aircel its really slow...

    The speeds are very annoying,
Have you asked mtnl about your speed problems?
