Thread: Make your own signal booster for cheap!

Hi!

YouTube is full of "make your own antenna" videos, but they don't show any before and after comparison. It has been advised to take a USB cable and put the dongle at the window to have a good signal. BUT what will happen if I take a thick non-insulated wire and make a spring like coil of it and insert the end into the antenna slot? Will it boost the signal or do nothing or damage the dongle?!

Has anyone done that or something similar? What else (apart from keep the dongle on the window via USB cable) do you suggest to boost the signal and squeeze the best possible performance (speed!) out of your dongle?

it is working fine for me. I am using a old telephone wire for this. it really boost my signal from none to full ...
