is all india roaming free in mtnl 3g data? and are there nay unlimited data plans in mtnl 3g. i want to use it in kanpur.thanks in advance.

Yes, where there are MTNL or BSNL towers you'd get net with NO roaming charges on internet. BUT roaming charges WILL apply on calls!

Yes. The best unlimited plan is of Rs.4500 for 6 months i.e. Rs.750 per month and speeds are good usually between 2-2.5 mbps.

if you are using MTNL data plan,out of MTNL area your data plan will not work on roaming it will Maigret automatically to regular plan that is: 1p/10kb.

Travel all over India but Stay in Delhi/Mumbai very minimum. Have family in Delhi who can get me 6 months Rs 4500 prepaid 3G pack. (@750/month)
Even if they allow 10-15 Gb /month works out cheaper than BSNL's Rs 1100/10 gb /month pack.
Any body using MTNL latest 3G Jadoo unlimited otside Delhi/Mumbai (mostly in roaming tho BSNL) with reasonable speed?

Voice calls roaming charges is ok ( This preposed MTNL 3G Pre paid Jadoo sim is only for data)
If it works on BSNL network all over India with no speed cap (un like BSNL's speed cap @1mbps for un limited plans during Jan-June2011)- it may be useful.
Any one who is using MTNL3G but travels widely confirm?

Data roaming on BSNL network is free... i m using it

when i contacted MTNL staff in person, they told that they charge for roaming.

Could you please tell me where you confirmed "NO ROAMING CHARGES" before you took connection.

today i confirm dat there is no charge for roaming in MTNL 3G .. I am having an . MTNL Delhi sim .. and presently i am in UP West Circle ..to check that i recharged with Rs 50 data plan (60MB for 30 days ) from Rechargeguru site ..and i am using it..there is no deduction from main balance .every time i disconnect i get a message from MTNL Trump .. Your remained volume is ........KB .whtevr it may be . so feel free to use MTNL plans ..and Speed as i tested on speedtest dot net website .. i found it to be 1.5Mbps .. cooollll ..
in IDM it was 200-225KBps ..

n one more thing .. i want to say .. service of rechargeguru site is awesome .. they recharged my accnt within 2 mins .. though plans like Rs 4500 may take some time ..like 12-24 hrs .. \\\

First-It is better to put a small 500mb 3G recharge and check speed in your area.
Is it easy to get a Pre paid sim with out local address proof? ( out station ID,address proof) otherwise have to depend on freinds/family who have Delhi /Mumbai address proof.
Now it looks like for MTNL Jadoo sim-1mbps -1.5 mbps speeds are obtained in BSNL roaming(with out a straight jacket speed cap like BSNL had before for Un Limited Rs 4200 pack).No debits from main balance. (un less you make voice calls)
For some one using more than 10-20GB per month it is worth the trouble I think.
Foe BSNL gives 10 GB for Rs 1100 (speed up to 3-4 mbps even)
(6xRs1100= rs 7200-Rs 4500= rs 2700 savings) even for use of 10 GB.

I made recharge Rs. 130 recharge on MTNL for roaming Use on BSNL.
It was fine in Delhi MTNL free use from data.

But

AS I entered BSNL area in Haryana, BSNL Started data usage charge from Balance.
So a useless experiment for me.
Now have to use data 105 mb left in MTNL area.:



Don't Go For Bsnl Roaming after MTNL data recharge atleast in Haryana. Totall wastage.

I know well which parts of UP West fall in MTNL area ..actually I m in Uttarakhand ri8 now ..so its BSNL area ..

Check the MTNL website here and it NOW says that roaming data for both pre and post paid is 1p/10 KB

dude its FREE. no roaming charge. i'm in jaipur and just recharged rs 20 for 250 mb 1 day. it works like charm. i got 1.5 mbps constant speed.
its working fine

go to paytm.com .. after entering the 20 in amount section .. mark the check box SPECIAL RECHARGE ..proceed to the payment .. dats it. it will take about a minute or two ..n u r done

but are u using Aircel sim ?? or is it something like BSNL has a tie up kind of thing with Aircel for those areas where BSNL networks are not available?? but i don't think so ..

I have discontinued BSNL few months back.(After 6 months unlimited finished ,recharged Rs 203/500 mb two times.Speed cap gone but signal not good in my HYD home.I have better options like Airtel and VOda 3G now)

No I dont think Aircel has got tie up here as both have liecence in A.P.

Iam using Aircel 3G prepaid only becos they are giving 3GB data free + 1 dozen banana+ coconut free along with purchase of 7.2 mbps card.

Though 2nd to 4th 3G recharge is double data offer ,I may not use it. ( speed Airtel 7.2 mbps.Aircel 3.6 only)
