Default MTNL 3G 6 months plan with 200GB data

I was looking at the Rs4500 prepaid plan listed on this page http://mtnldelhi.in/dolphin/index.php/tariff-plans listed on the prepaid tab and this is what it says :

S.no Name of 3G Data Plan MRP(Rs.) Talk Value(Rs.) Validity Data Usage
    1.) Weekly Data Plan 76 0.76 7 Days 1 GB
    2.) Half Yearly Data Plan* 4500 0.98 6 Months 200 GB
    3.) Yearly Data Plan 5000 0.05 1 Year 100 GB

Then right at the bottom there are two more 6 months plans and a yearly plan with different data limits and higher prices. I cant seem to get any reliable info. I am looking to get this Rs4500 plan but dont wanna spend the money to later find out that it does not exist any more. I have been using the 1650Rs monthly plan for some time now without any problems.

Any one using this Rs4500 6 months plan? Is is available and have you tried recharging recently on ngpay by any chance?

Any info would be much appreciated as I dont wanna do the rounds to our sanchar hut.

Admin you said you have a MTNL connection aswell, how reliable is the connection? What speeds do you get?

I just recharged with Rs4500 and got 200GB. I called up Mtnl toll free number listen on their website and spoke to them to confirm this 4500 plan would work.

@Preeti20 I have a 3g connection and it works just fine. I get a speed of about 2mbps for downloading and upload speed is a little over 256kbps but it does fluctuate from time to time. Not a very reliable connection but if you do a lot of downloading then its worth every paisa provided you choose the right plans.

Ok thanks! I suppose its not something for me then, as I hardly do any downloading, its just the normal browsing and mailing.

    @ Stuti,

You are already facing slow browsing/speed problem with MTS and MTNL 3G is not going to be any different. I would recomend MTNL for over night downloading kind of stuff. If you are only going to browse and send emails and other light stuff then get an Airtel 3G , Reliance 3G or a Vodafone 3G connection as these networks are known to hold up during peak hours. The cheaper options like MTNL, MTS etc have got a large user base who primarily use these connections for downloads which results in network congestion so best avoided unless downloading is the only thing you would be doing with them or dont mind slow down at peak hours.

    Hope this helps.

By Dwarka do you mean Dwarka in Delhi? If that is what you mean then MTNL has strong signals mostly but that wont help really as it is not the reception that is iffy but their network.

Your suggestion is good but I do not want to pay Rs1550 for 12GB data to Airtel and Vodafone is even more costly. I have decided to keep my MTS connection and just use my mobile phone's data for browsing and MTS for large downloads and during the night or early mornings when it is not that slow.

This plan does not seem to be working any more as Ngpay mobile application keeps saying invalid amount when I try to recharge with Rs4500 but it worked fine with Rs1650 which gives unlimited for a month.

Does BSNL have something similar to do?

This Rs4500 for 6 months 3g data card prepaid plan for MTNL is working fine with Paytm, it wasent working with ngpay so I just tried with paytm and I am posting using MTNL 3G. Not bad for 4500 200GB is a lot of data.

I just did a speed test and speed is a little over 500kbps but from my experience in the past it goes way above 2mbps at night.

In my experience too, PayTM has been best for recharging MTNL sim. In-fact on mtnl site, it is on the top of list for 'third party online recharge' recommendation.
I normally use recharge it now for other sim...but in case of mtnl it rejects and refunds the amount.

Thinking of 4500 recharge myself...i earlier had photon+ postpaid dongle, which gave 30 gb for 1200 (1350+ after taxes). Speed wasn't that special either in daytime...400-600 kbps. Mtnl is almost same speed wise so I'll probably go with it.

The only problem I see with the yearly recharges is that if the connection stops working for some reason which is a common problem with MTNL then there is not much which can be done, because MTNL customer is useless. On the other hand if the connection works smoothly then it does work like a charm.

Yeah well, personally my average is 1 or 2 days of disturbance per month.
Specially if it rains heavily... MTNL network reacts badly with H2O for some reason
