Default Disconnections every month, WHY?????

Every month my speed is halved and I get disconnected.

Is it just me here that gets monthly mtnl disconnections every month for about 1-2 weeks. I am getting really tired of this.

Does anyone here know what could be the possible reason?

I do keep the modem(MT882) ON almost 24/7 though. But I have never had a problem with that when using other modems with other ISPs.

The mtnl guys don't seem to have an answer for this.

this could be a line fault or long line issue. Please check distance beteen your property and exchange otherwise you can contact your exchange to know that if you are affected by long line warning or not.
Can you please update your SNR Margin and please check if DSL light on your modem goes flashing/ off at disconnection or stays On

Thank you very much for your reply.

I have been told by MTNL guys that my exchange is not far from my home.
As for the SNR issue I don't have a clue.
But the MTNL "Line-Man" have come on a house visit and checked it recently, He said everything is fine.
DSL Light flashing on disconnections ??
I guess it stays ON and flashes only occasionally .

Just don't guess mate, check it next time when there is no connection or you face disconnection, ust check status of DSL light coz if it goes flashing then it means somewhere your line is loosing sync and could be a line fault and i really don't suggest you to trust words of these lineman's coz even they like to run away from all that physical exercise and work.

Well the DSL light did flash occasionally

I talked to Mr Bhatti, (I am sure those from Delhi know him),
and now NO DSL light,

Who is the best person to talk to , regarding any line issues ?
I am at a loss here

if DSL keeps on flashing every now and then and as you said DSL off now so it sounds like a line fault, better if you contact your loacal exchange otherwise call ISP and book complaint with same
they will take care of this issues

Got my line replaced . The DSL line seems stable although it still flashes occasionally.
I still am not connected.

I heard the lineman talking to his colleague - 9-10db is that the SNR
(which does not seem to be great)

The sad part is I am still not connected, still feel clueless.

finally got connected today, but still have the speed problem (getting only half od what I am paying for).
Anyway I was told there was a server problem.
My experience with MTNL has been very distressful to the point of losing my sanity. I have definitely not been getting what I am paying for.
