Thread: insane download

Ok , i finally managed to get mtnl broadband today and was shocked when i opened my account to check amount of data downloaded , i had only surfed the net for about a hour and the amount downloaded showed 81.4 mb . Is there anything wrong with the pc or there is something fishy about mtnl , please help .

sb21pro now can you please explain from where this update comes into the picture and which update are you talking about, is it windows update or what.

BTW: if it is windows update then windwos never send such a heave update in one go, such a heavy update comes only if its the first update for system after installing xpsp2 but after first update all small kb updates come with small security fixes otherwise windows validation tool comes which is not 81mb

can surfing for 45 minutes cause 81mb download
also can u explain how to close all updates and please mention any descent software if available which can catch hold of all applications which are trying to download something from net .
by the way i am using 849 night unlimited plan

he said he GOT his hand on his mtnl BB, guessing that , this is the the first time his computer is online, updates are meant in that way. there are other updaters ruuning as well u know , other than windows

watched any videos?

my windows updates are all off and before mtnl i had siffy and airtel gprs , and i dont think that surfing sites like orkut or yahoo for 1 hour would use about 80 mb of data download .
