I have triband connection at my place and at my brothers place.I would like to know if there is a way to find out from my place if he is online or viceversa,some ping method or so?Also is there a way if we can share files or play games between ourselves without being charged for download.we could get our ip address at cmyip.com

any data sent and received over internet will be counted as data download and if your plan is chargeable, you will be charged for data. to see if he is online, you can use messenger. To connect to his computer remotely, you will have to use either net meeting or Remote Desktop. Make sure both of you have a public IP know so to connect and in case you are using router, you will have to configure port forwarding.

Can I use RealVNC? I can connect to his pc by entering his ip whe we are logged in.
