Default Signed up for 512 Kbsp, just getting 220

    Hi:

I just had my MTNL Triband installed today. I was promised I would actually get 512 Kbps but I am getting 220 Kbps. I tested from a I went online to verify they had my plan connect and they did. The MTNL test of bandwidth was not wokrin Any idea what is going on?

    Thanks,
    Kayda

I dont know how an mtnl official can promise you that they can gurantee 512kbps when that is just not possible on a adsl connection
It all depends on the distance from the telephone exchange up to about 2 kilometres results are not bad but beyond 2 kilimetres the speeds start going down

how far are you from the exchange ?

which plan are u using, thier speeds vary from plans to plans, if u would have opted for a 512 Kbps plan u will get somewhere around 400 - 450 kbps

but the actual download speed when u are downloading a file from the internet will be around 45 - 50 kbps on a 512 kbps plan
