    Hi,
I went through the article. I am having problems opening in the modem router settings page at 192.168.1.1. This page is not opening. I tried cleaning the history, cookies and temp files. But still cannot open the page. tried opening through IE as well as Firefox. All other sites are opening. Any suggestions.

Tried calling the Helpline. They took down my complaint as they were not able to solve the issue. They said the tech department would call me, but haven't yet.

    use 192.168.1.2 for usb

which one did u say u were on ???

if this doesnt help then post ur "ipconfig /all" data here.
open command prompt and type the command within quotes and post the complete result here.

When I am trying to open the router settings page at 192.168.1.1, the page just does not load. The status bar shows it is connecting and that's where it remains. After some time it gives error that the page cannot be displayed. The option of entering the username and password just does not appear.

I changed my IP to 192.18.1.3. Also I get replies after pinging the gateway and the DNS servers. I tried resetting the modem too. But still no result.

Done everything but still the router page is not opening. But some progress. Yesterday night I left my pc ON at approx 12.30 pm and utorrent and bittorrent running. Downloading did not start till about 1.30 am when I went to sleep. But when I woke up at around 6 am the downloading was going on. Finally. But the speed was in the range of 30-35 kbps. The router page still did not open though. Will check again tonight.

may be client of the server changed...

this happens sometimes when someone tries to download on the same client server for too long one after the another...

mother client is fed up..you need to ping up again and see diff ips and see what happens again...

yes try tonight and tell us..
or may be the cache is a problem as cited earlier..

to refresh the mother client you need to completely get out off and refresh your cache emtying it...

refresh it again and again, ping and also try to switch some another healthy ip so as the mother server feds you with her love

Bad news. The downloading worked for only a day. Not working for the past 2 days. The MTNL helpline is also of no help. The strange part is that I am able to ping to the gateway but not open the router page.

    Wink

go to what is my ip.com and then over there see your ip now in the IE bar put the ip and enter and hopefully you should be able to enter your router or the other way is to ask the MTNL ppl to replace the router...
