The port which ur using now is fine..

what i meant earlier is any port between 14000 and 65000 will give you a good speed.

Did that clear your doubt ?

You can use any port for torrents other than 0 to 1023 which are reserved for Windows. Ports 0~1023 are also unsafe ports to open. And you will get the same speed with any port.

    So stop bragging.

I have reached speeds up to 240 kB/s (consistent for nearly 25 mins). But sometimes I also get 40-80 kB/s. It all depends upon the number of seeds and the quality of the connection.

Its true that some users experienced speed surges in BSNL & MTNL. This was much common when the existing 2mbps network was upgraded to 6/8mbps. Because the speed profile and plan profile of the users got mixed up in between. A few lucky ones got to experience 6/8mbps for some days/nights

i already suggested this on other threads ... choose a random port above 52,000. i cannot give you the source of the above mentioned suggestion as i am following this for the last 3 years . i once saw this recommendation on some torrent guidance site

It is a thumb rule for torrenting and is quoted in many so-called guides available online for efficient torrenting
