Unhappy Micorosft and MSN not opening

I am not able to open MSN, Hotmail and few other websites. I have 256 Unlimited plan. Where as when I use MTNl Dial Up I am able to open all the websites. Is there anyone who can help me out or anyone who is facing same kinda problem. I am using a wireless Router and checked disabling Firewall and Port Forwarding.

Try clearing all privacy data from ur browser cache.
    Try using Open DNS.

Try pinging the websites and post the result and also the exact error u get when opening these websites.

Hey I think the problem is with my router, My Router is blocking MSN, Microsoft, Youtube Download .com, where as it works fine with a different router. I have a siemens wireless router. Can anyone tell me which port to open to get access MSN and Microsoft and Download.com. Please provide me the port number so that I can forward that port.

No ISP in India is known to block individual websites (there maybe exceptions*). Maybe a temporary glitch. Try experimenting with various DNS servers. Open DNS would be my suggestion, or u can try DNSAdvantage too.

*I am not able to open FileHippo.com - Download Free Software since the past few years in my BSNL connection.

There is a small tool called winsockxp that can repair your connection if its become faulty due to incorrect registry entried.
    Google & you'll find it.

Also check your hosts file in system32.They might have been added to it by some program/spyware.

@ http://www.indiabroadband.net/members/powerdoc.html Why do u think that i am unable to open up filehippo for the past 3 years? BSNL blocking it? or Filehippo blocking 59.xx.xx.xx IP range?

I request fellow broadband users who are in the 59.xx.xx.xx IP range to verify whether the url filehippo.com is opening up for them.

Tried 74.53.121.85 and www.filehippo.com Still not working. I guess they have banned 59.93.xx.xx IP range from accessing the site. Because some of the other users who had reported the same falls in this bracket.

Yes i had tried the url provided by u. But i have lost all hopes of getting access to that site through BSNL directly. I use toonel proxy software to access that site. A German IP is allocated to me and i can browse the site without worries.

The opposite can be true too. Filehippo can ban particular IP range, just like demonoid used to do occasionally

Ya its more likely that way.
Some torrent trackers have banned some BSNL ip ranges.

    Hey People,
I think most of the MTNL users have this problem. One particular site will open to someone but the same site wont open to another people. Microsoft, MSN, Hotmail are the main sites that MTNL users will have hard time opening it.
I dont know the reason but let me tell you my story. I had D-Link 502T Router. I never had any problem opening any sites. No matter its Microsoft, MSN or Hotmail, I was always able to open these sites. Then last week all of a sudden my router wasnt showing me the PPPoE LED. Hhhhhhmmmm, that was interesting, I tried rebooting the modem lot of time but to no avail. Then I tried deleting the current connection and created a new connection even though the PPPoE LED was not lid. I rarely call 1504 because I know they wont be able to provide solution due to technical knowledge but in this case I didnt have choice. I called them and they did pretty much the same things what I was doing but still my PPPoE LED was not lid. Power LED, ADSL LED and LAN LED was lid but not the PPPoE LED. I was quiete frustrated. I complained lot of time but I knew that they wont take any action. Then I thought about trying another modem. One of my friends has MTNL connection so I took his modem (which is from MTNL offcourse) for 1 day. I created a new connection and it connected on very first attempt. When I tried my D-Link modem then it wont connect at all. So guess my D-Link modem is not functioning. Anywayz, I requested my friend to let me use his modem for couple of days till I get my another modem and he agreed. Then I applied for the MTNL's modem and created a new connection and thats it, I was able to connect without any problem.
Ever since I changed my modem from D-Link to MTNL, I started having hard time opening some of the web sites. Particularly MSN and Hotmail I was never able to open at all. I tried another web browser but no go. I was not able to figure out what could be causing this as I never had any problem opening any web pages before. Then I thought of checking the old D-link modem which was not working. I connected the D-link modem and checked the connection setup and then checked the MTNL's connection setup. The only difference I could see was Sharing was Enable in D-link modem by default and in MTNL's modem Sharing is Disable by default. I created a new connection in MTNL's modem with Sharing Enable and guess what????????????
Voila!!!!!!!!!!!! I was able to open MSN and Hotmail. There is one more site www[dot]warez-bb[dot]org, if Sharing is disable then you wont be able to open this site also but with Sharing Enable you should be able to open this website and even Hotmail, MSN.
I guess you all should try this and I am positive this should work for you too.
Other than that I dont see any other reason for not opening these sites.
Hope this works for you too.
    Thanks

    Maqsood

    Hi there,
Sorry sir, I never had an opportunity to work with 2540T Router. Its there in 502T and MTNL's Modem. Dont you get this Sharing option when creating a new connection.
Would it be possible for you to send me a picture of your modem's new connection page.
    Thank you,

    Maqsood.

are you sure that ip range blocking from either side is causing you the problem? i am not sure but this can be a case of DNS hijack. i would like to recommend a very useful free tool to you - which may just work for you - if not , it is useful in many other ways also ...

    try this ... SmitFraudFix

Yes this seems to be a problem with 59.93.xx.xx IP range. Subscribers in this rage cannot cannot to filehippo. The same has been reported by many members in my community too. I use toonel to access such websites..
