Yes tried to reset it again. All information went away after reset. Then i entered all again and saved it and i can connect to the net. The problem is after restart/switching all the router again all information is intact except for the login and password. That information is BLANK. If i press the radio button PPPoE above the login box the right login and password reappears. Then i save it and it works.
I hope you get the picture

Reset the router using the web interface or by pressing the reset button which can be found behind the router with the help of a small pin. Make sure the button is pressed gently using a pin for at least a duration of 10 secs.

Hopefully after the rest, reconfigure the modem and now the settings should be saved properly in the router.

If the modem is within the warranty period then u can exchange it for another modem.

Yep, there is something wrong with router's firmware or you are not doing it right.

as the modem is from bsnl itself, take to exchange and ask them to check the device

Too much of resetting is also harmful as it ruins the firmware programming. Try it for a maximum of 3-5 times and then get the BSNL techies to play with it.
