Default D Link DSL2640T ADSL not blinking

Dear All,

Can anyone please help me know whom should I contact for the problem stated below:

I have a D Link (wireless ADSL2+Router) the model no. is DSL2640T. When I try to connect the ADSL light is not blinking and thus I am not being able to connect I guess. This problem was not there earlier and I havent changed any setting whatsoever. Thus I cant figure out whom to get in touch and how to solve the problem.....please help.

Is the router spoilt or something or is it MTNL connection?

Thanks in advance

Is the phone working properly? U mean to say the connection was working fine and it started acting up lately. Did u try contacting the exchange? What was their take on the matter?

U can also contact the exchange and report the problem to them. Alternatively u can try the connection with another splitter.

When u say try the connection thru another splitter...do u mean another router? Am sorry but am very poor on technical terms and will appreciate if u could help me understand this better

Yep u should be reporting the same to MTNL so that they can send some engineers to troubleshoot the connection.

Look carefully at the broadband setup. U will find the main telephone wire of MTNL being inserted into a small match-box like device. This box is usually white or off white in color. The other side of the device will feature two outputs, one of which is inserted into your modem and the other is inserted into the telephone.

This match-box like device is termed splitter as it splits the incoming line into two.

Try connecting the phone line directly to the modem rather than through the splitter. And make sure there are no parallel lines.
