Thread: strange mtnl wifi router problem

i just changed my router. mtnl sent me a wifi router as requested. it is hg520 with 4 lan ports.

the problem is the net keeps stopping. when i ping the dns it keeps showing REQUEST TIMED OUT from time to time (after every few successful pings, 1 or 2 request timed out appear) because of which the connection with any site im surfing breaks.

please help....

well it is normal with MTNL, go to ur local snachar haat, speak with them so that thay can send a technician to yr home and resolve the issue for u. If the issues still persist, i suggest u look for other ISPs

have you tried with all the 4 lan ports? is the problem same in all ports? this may happen due to defective(loose) port

Well try changing the DNS to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220. It maybe a problem related to that particular DNS.
