How do u intent to connect? Do u want to dial out the connection by yourself (bridge mode) or do u want the modem to dial out the connection as soon as it is switched on (pppoe mode)?

    Hello..
    Thanks for quick replies..

    I am using pppoe mode.
I tried configuring TCP/IP setting using DHCP as well as Manual(192.168.1.2-245). But it didnt help.

Nothing is reachable apart from my router(192.168.1.1).
I guess there is a problem in signal strength as SNR margine is too low.

    Thanks

Your SNR margins are too low and line attentuation is too high. please check your wirings particularly at the joints and for any deposits at the joints. take help of the linemen.

If possible get the entire telephone wiring of the house replaced. They should be doing it for free. Also reduce the amount of contacts or the length of the wires connecting to the modem. The more the length the greater the attenuation. Check for open cracks in the wire, cover it up with a insulation tape..

These are some of the methods used for decreasing attenuation and increasing the SNR.
