    Exclamation Azureus/Vuze.Port issue.

Q1."NAT Error - Connect attempt to XX.XXX.XXX.XX:50000 (your computer) timed out after 20 seconds. This means your port is probably closed."

I get this error message after doing a NAT firewall test on Vuze.

Now,earlier i had a problem where the torrents health was yellow.
Having followed the instructions on this forum and other sites.I was able to get a green smiley (everything working fine).
I've made a static IP address.Opened up ports for Vuze. But now I'm getting this message.WHY!?

Q2.Also,every time i do this test i get a small message on the bottom left : Warning:"Binding server socket failed as no compatible addresses are available, please check your bind-t-IP-settings".

I unchecked that option. It was set as on by default.
Having set up port forwarding on 192.168.1.1 before and after I unchecked UPnP option on Vuze i got a green smiley.

Now if i get a green smiley its suppose to mean everything is working fine.
However when i do that NAT test,i get a messageort closed.

    I'm really confused now.

if u are getting the green smilie there's really no need to pay attention to what its saying, u are receiving connections.

u can try with utorrent too to check.

u can check here to see if it solves ur problem http://forum.vuze.com/thread.jspa?me...182635&#182635

Yeah,i do see a slight increase in my download speed.Earlier it was fluctuating between single digits. Now its like 25 kB/s to 40 kB/s.

ETA for completion is still 5 days !!!!

So i shouldn't be concerned with the NAT test thing ? and the error message i get ?

look as long as the smilie is green, it means u r receiving inbound connections, that means everything is fine.... u can also check in the peers tab if i remember correctly, there shud be flags on some peers that say 'I', which means its an incoming connection, which means no need to fret .
i do not remember correctly about this peer thingy for azureus as i switchd to ut since long. but the green smilie means there are incoming connections.

about the eta part, that really depends on the torrent health, seed to peer ratio and the swarm speed... even if u can receive connections, this does not guarantee that u will receive great speeds.

So,you think UT is best ?
Cause even in UT still need to set up port forwarding.
The MTNL site for this kind of thing is really annoying.
Its not user friendly at all!!

Utorrent is light on memory resources while Vuze can be tweaked like anything. But for a casual downloader utorrent must work out fine. If u are into public tracker downloadings i would suggest bitcomet, it is a known leeching client.

I did a NAT test again after following some instructions on a link you posted.
    And surprise surprise,i got a message :
    Testing port 50000 ... OK !
    Congratulations, you fixed it!
On my fire wall all i did was mention the port in this case its 50000 and I added UDP and TCP Vuze to my list of exceptions.
Once that was done,i ran the NAT test again, now everything and i mean everything should be working in proper order.
    Thank you.

    Cool

    Which OS are you using??
If it is vista, then say bye bye to torrents on public trackers...
Try private trackers like bitsoup on vista..
They will give you full speed..
