    Default Problem

    Hi Folks

My friend uses MTNL triband schemeat his PC. However, he removed the blue thick wire that connects d-link modem and PC. He removed the wire so that he could connect to his laptop. However, after he put the wire back to the PC, the net was not working on PC..

    So,
    1) has the wire have to be replaced?
    2) Or is there any driver that needs to be installed?
    3) Is it related to ethernet, as my friend said that when he started the PC,there were some message coming as to ethernet...Are any drivers that needs to be installed?

    You did not say whether,
    when the laptop
    was connected to Internet
    you could surf.

    2.IN desktop connect the Cable ( called RJ45 )
    correctly and confirm Internet works.

    3.In laptop

    Start/All programs/Accessories/communications
select Local area Network connection wizard.
    follow instructions.
Compare copy entries seen in Desktop.

If Dlink has 4 lan PORTS, connect the rj45 to Internet port.
Buy 2 more rj45 cables. connect to desktop LAN1 Laptop LAN 2.
    Feedback.

Mention Dlink model and make. is it DSL502T ?

Pl. Go to Control Panel> Network Connections and verify that its status is displayed as "enabled".

It is called Rj45 Cat 5E ( 4 pairs of wire inside)
better quality compared to telephone wires. ( RJ11)

An electrical shop or computer shop will supply the cable and connect the end connectors with a crimping machine.
Get short length or longer length as you need.
