    Default Torrent Download Problem

    Hi,

I am using iball baton router on my MTNL Triband connection and have the NU849 Plan....
The problem i am facing is that whenever i use bit torrent or utorrent it doesnot give me download speed... max i get is around 12kbps. But at the same time if i download anything from the browser for eg: Match Highlights or anything i get great speeds between 160-210kbps.... I am not understanding why am not getting speeds in torrents? Also the port doesnt get forwarded as well the icon always remains yellow or red..... anybody has any solution then please help .......

It is a result of improper connection with peers and seeds. To connect to your system, you should open a port in firewall & router. You can configure a static IP if you wish.

Please try port forwarding. Here is the link

    • Please at first check port forward thread at this forum for your modem
    • As you said you are getting good speed in direct download so i think your connection is perfect. In case of torrent please check the peer & seed as meetdilip said. For better speed lots of seed and peer needs.

    Cool

I have the same plan DSL 849 NU.
I was also facing the same problem of getting 7-8 KB/s speed on utorrent.
But finally I found the answer !

    1] Forget about utorrent

    2] Download and install BitComet.

    3] Go to half-open.com

    Download and install the patch.

Apply the patch and restart computer.

4] Then open BitComet and go to TCP/IP Limit.Set new half open limit to 50.

5] Set your upload limit to 20 ( options > connection)

6] Now try downloading some healthy torrent having 100+ seeds.

    This procedure worked for me.

    Now I can download 4 GB/night :001_tt2:
