Default what adsl modem + wifi router to buy for mtnl?

    hi,
this is my first post here.
i have a triband connection and now am planning to set up a shared network adsl modem with wireless router and give back my old d-link modem.
which one should i buy? (ie, which is most compatible with mtnl connections )

    ps:
i have already paid the money so not buying the thing is not a choice
    i will prefer a 2-in-1 (modem+router) device

What you need is a modem+wireless router. Mosty of these that you mention are pure routers. There are some exceptions but too costly in my opinion.

In any case ISPs will support their own provided modems only.

MTNL does not use PPPoE or Bridge. These are modem configuration modes. Ultimately everything is PPPoE. This is the standard for broadband in India. Some other countries use PPPoA (Point-to-Point Protocol over ATM).

I have no idea about MTNL supplied modems but considering that BSNL and MTNL are sister companies, they may be supplying similar equipment. In case of BSNL, I advise people for going in for a Type IV modem (4-port ethernet + wi-fi) such as WA-3002-G4.
