Unhappy DSL NU 849 dl. @ 256 kbps only + DLINK 802C Config advice

Hello to all the Geeks,Gurus,Gods & newbies like me of this forum,

My Details : DSL 849 NU, DLINK GLB-802C modem,at Thane.
Before i start with my problems, let me tell you that i have exhaustively gone thru all the threads of this forum and not that i m blindly posting. I have attached 4 screenshots (see below) and need your pointwise feedback as follows :

    1) 1st screenshot shows 802c HOME page

Q- Why is it that dl speed shown as 256 kbps only on NU 849 plan? Is this parameter called ADSL sync ? My dl. is max 25 kbytes only.To get full throttle of near about 2 mbps, I need to complain to MTNL divisional engineer, right? (Correct me if i m wrong !)

    2) 2nd screenshot shows the quick config page.

Q - The config looks ok, but is there a need to enter Primary & sec. DNS Address ? these addresses have been entered in the PC lan card by MTNL ppl.

    3) 3rd screenshot indicates the DSL parameters & ADSL config.
    Q - Which parameters are relevant ?
Q - Are the indicated parameters for my line good, average, bad or ugly. Similar DSL 502T page is posted on this forum, but looks very different so i m not able to compare.
    Q - which mode is best - ADSL2+ Auto, D.gmt, Multimode ?

ipconfig/all dos screenshot is also posted for reference.

Connection was activated just 2-3 days ago.Although I have reviewed this forum in detail, but if by oversight i have missed sum thread or sum Q's r already partially answered, pls b kind to gimme the links. Thanks in advance.

    256Kbps is equal to 2048KBps
256kbps is not equal to 2048kBps but
256kBps is equal to 2048 kbps

let the question be very silly if you know the answer tell it politely else leave it dont reply to it...!

ok no heartly feeling just informing you thats all...!

Read my post again and you will see that i have very specifically mentioned dl. speed as 25 kbytes/sec in my post.

It's hi time that you educate yourself, read the following 4m wikipedia :

The abbreviation kb (for kilobit) should not be confused with the abbreviation of the term kilobyte (abbreviated to kB or KB, with an upper case B).

This is precisely inline with Kiran's clarifications.
Kiran - thanx a 10^6 for your prompt and "timely" clarifications.
Timely because Infest deleted his "dumb" post.

Infest - Please read this post bit by bit . No hard feelings, but you shudnt post personal comments in this technical forum, u can use pvt messages for that !

    Smile Thanx Essbebe

    Dear Essbebe,

Yr prompt feedback was very useful. First I complained to MTNL exchange and got my speed upgraded to 2 Mbps. Secondly, I entered the opendns IP addresses specified by you.

With these modifications, I now have 1.98 Mbps )

Once again, thanx a million !!!
