    Exclamation Sterlite Modem Problem

    I am using Sterlite Modem from MTNL and two days before my net was down, I called up MTNL guys and they told me that everthing is okey with there part. They told me that there would be some problem on your part i.e Modem.

    They also told me that if i have reset the modem or not.

    I checked my modem and find out that ACT(active) light don't blink continously.
    I reset my modem but still the same problem.

    Following is Diagnostics message.


    Testing Ethernet LAN connection ... PASS
    Testing ADSL Synchronization . FAIL
    Testing ATM OAM segment ping ... SKIPPED
    Testing ATM OAM end to end ping ... SKIPPED
    Ping Primary Domain Name Server . SKIPPED
    Ping Yahoo! ... SKIPPED

    Default suggest a isolation

    I’d suggest a isolation test [Trying the MTNL modem on your PC]
    Call them up and register a complain and suggest that they come to you location with their test modem

    try to post screen shot as annexure here of
    connection status and/or modem status.
    showing SNR DS US attn mod selected line speed etc.

    Expecting MTNL person to visit your site, to rectify defect is akin to to a mracle. The lords do not have time and desire to even to speak to customers and tell you complain to 1504 the worst ever Call center, you may have to only pray to god.

    Line Attenuation: 29.0 15.0 db


    Data Rate: 3104 256 kbps

    Please tell where could be the problem.

    1.Please mention modem model make.
    Sterlite Modem from MTNL
    2.Post this data
    Start RUN type cmd type ipconfig /all

    3. How do you connect "DIaler" mode
    You give ID PW in dialer in computer.
    or

    "Always On" ppp/PPPoE mode.
    Your ID and PW entered in modem.

    Model Make is Sam300

    ipconfig /all

    ip address: 192.168.1.5

    subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

    Preferred DNS (Primary) 59.179.243.70
    Alternate DNS (Secondary) : 203.94.243.70

    I am not able to ping the dns servers...its say request time out.


    Connect using always on PP/pppoe

    username is phone number
    password is ca number
