    Default Please help with MTNL problem

    Hey guys, please help me out with my problem. Ever since a few days ago, my internet connection is very sporadic. I don't think the problem is with the ISP because usually one or more of my 502T's lights are off when the internet breaks down. I feel that it might be because of my resetting the modem, but its not like I can't access the net at all, so I don't know. After resetting, all I did was re-enter my userID and password and the MTU rate as 1500. Please help me asap.....the MTNL guys are foxed and I would really not wish to buy a new router or change my ISP

    What lights are going off when internet breaks ?

    If DSL / ADSL light starts to blink as soon as internet breaks then it is the problem of the service provider and you have to contact them only.

    Please post some details about your problem like which are the lights blinking,
    SNR , Attenuation ratio and in CMD type ipconfig/ all and post the screen shots.

    Thanks for the replies guys...really wasn't expecting such a quick response...anyway....I'm unable to access the router homepage. 192.168.1.1 simply gives an "Internet Explorer cannot display....." on IE. On Mozilla I got the same with my Kaspersky on but I got a "server timed out" with it turned off. Despite this, I have been able to ping 192.168.1.1 and was getting a normal response....Clearly due to my inability to access the router homepage, I can't give you SNR or Attenuation. As for the lights, thats been pretty arbit till now...I mean at times only the power light is left on...other times the status light and the ethernet light go off....at all times the power light is solid and the ADSL light is reasonably solid *when* its on (I mean it does flicker every 3 seconds or so, but since that happens even when I do get uniterrupted net...I guess thats OK). I am attaching the screenshot of ipconfig /all.....I haven't included Adapter 2 details because they basically detail my VMWare...so I guess they wont be relevant...in case they are, do tell me....and thanks again for your help.
    Any ideas are welcome....should I try resetting again???? (Keep in mind that I feel that it was the first resetting that landed me in this pickle....so clearly I am not good at reconfiguring my router:helpsmilie::stupid::stupid

    go through these steps and i am sure you should be able to access your router

    http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...tml#post160251 (New BroadBand Connection)

    Later we will see the problem once you get into the router else we will reset it again, dont worry will provide the full details of re-configuring.

    @kirankumargb....
    heyy, didn't really understand the link, but managed to access the router's homepage by switching to a different system. So my SNR Margin is 27 (Downstream) and 25 (Upstream). The line attn is 17 (Downstream) and 9 (upstream). I have set VPI = 0 and VCI = 32.
    Might as well add, the router's homepage's connection kept getting broken. As in I had to keep on switching off the router and then switch it on again to go from page to page.

    @essbebe
    Sorry for the lack of details, its a D Link DSL 502T. Further, its connected to a Netgear wireless router (WGR614). However, the problem I mentioned continues even when I connect any of my systems directly using just the D Link, so I guess its not the wifi that is to blaim. Changed the MTU to 1492 and MRU to 1400...Still getting disconnected frequently....

    Any solutions?? Should I just restore to factory settings and do over???
    And thanks for the help guys
