Default Cannot access 192.168.1.1 on DSL-502T

Hi Friends - I'm new to this forum, so apologies if this has already been resolved. I have an MTNL 2Mbps connection with their D-Link DSL-502T modem. I am on Windows Vista and use IE8.

Till a few days back I could access my router easily using 192.168.1.1. Today it has stopped working. I tried switching the modem on/off and I got access once or twice but now it has completely stopped.

I cleant my browser's cache, temp files, etc. etc. but it didn't work. Couldn't get access on either IE8 or FF.

    Would appreciate help. Thanks.

Has your internet stopped working also?

You could try reseting the modem by pressing the RESET button on the back panel. After reseting, the modem will default to factory settings, all settings will be lost and then you can reconfigure the setup again.

    Default This worked for me.

I had the same problem guys.

I tried to find the solution on google.
I tried everything i found on may forums except resetting router.
    But no luck.

Then i replaced my router with other same type of router to see
    whether i can open 192.168.1.1

And yes. I was able to open that page.

and then I replaced my router which i was using.
    It didnt work with that.

I thought it must be the incoming line causing the problem.

I disconnected my incoming line (Telephone Line) from my ISP (BSNL),
    Switch off and switch on,
    and tried to open 192.168.1.1.

    and it worked.

Try this, it may work for you also.
