Thread: Need help with a frustrating problem !!!

I applied for a 512kbps combo plan with MTNL , it clearly states that i should be getting a minimum speed of 512kbps whereas i am not even getting half the speed as clearly shown by this speedtest report.
I have tried complaining but they have not fixed the problem...
Should i file a complaint in a consumer court against them ???

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

512kbps means speed will be upto 512kbps. TRAI has something to work on
if u get 512kbps, consider lucky.

not sure about MTNL, with Airtel I get speed near to my plan

umm.... it clearly states my minimum bb speed as 512kbps......

I use 256 kbps Unlimited plan from BSNL. During night unlimited hours the speed goes as low as 115 Kbps which is not even called as broadband. There is not much we can do in this.

I couldnt link a file here due to low post count so i have posted the speedtest report in my sig....

I have a 2Mbps MTNL connection, and I routinely get anywhere between 1.2-1.7Mbps. I cannot post speedtest results since I cannot post link at this forum as yet.

A written complaint to the nodal officer and Appellate authority may help. Address and phone no on the back side of your bill.

Try TCP/IP optimizer from speedguide.net.
Mention your modem model and make.

oops sorry , forgot to update it... i just emailed the DM n the problem was fixed within the hour... Thanks guys ! oh n cool man,.,, wish i too get 17mbps someday...
I'll neverever shut down the modem then
