I believe you have the splitter before the line which divides into telephone and modem. If not makes sure the line comes to the splitter and then divides into two. One to the modem and another to telephone.

btw is the Data Rate given in the modem settings , my net connection speed ??? i mean , is that what my speed should be according to my plan (not download speed)

i have one line split to two... the second line is further split to internet and landline.... so is that the problem ???

hmmm.... well but wont it be an exceedingly long line .....

so ths config should be something like this

Main Line
|
splitter
^
modem Tel Line
^
Line 1 Line 2

Now the problem is , that how do i convince the MTNL ppl to come and change this wiring ???

well your right that is a difficult task , lineman usually would not do it by themselves.. unless you pay them.. you could do this by yourlself!!

I had the same problem. Rather than checking the wiring to find out the direct line. I asked the MTNL guy to provide a new line from the junction box outside my house (which they did at no cost) and got the rest of the wiring done myself.

Hey actually even I experience the same problem. Besides an incoming call, even when I open the main door of the house the line disconnects

Default MTNL HG 520 trendchip. Internet is intermittent. Gets disconnected often.

Hello Guys,

Can any one help me. I recently got the MTNL connection with wireless router (HG520) and often disconnects from the internet. Could anyone suggest a solution for this. Thanks and much appreciated.

Smile It works for most of us

Im mtnl unlimited 749 plan user. The only way to keep your net always connected is to keep downloading i.e. by torrents or direct downloads............I dont care which one. Itz basically bcoz mtnl keeps adjusting and trying to add as much as users during those intervals we call disconnections. The function is similar to a balancing act in a circus!!! But first make sure u hav unlimited net or lol GOdlike Bill
