| Junior Member | Recently i went install wireless for an mtnl connection in powai, at my friends place. he is a novice for computers \. anyways he had triband for past several months now and i have done some work previously also for him. recently he had an iptv installed on the triband line and the mntl ENGINEERS messed up the wireless connection settings and i went redo them. i checked the new modem page, and lo behold i found that the page was showing the adsl down rate as 6096 (6mbps). uprate was 512. this on the status page of the adsl modem. it was an hueiw i think. i check the mtnl speed test and the speed was 4.5mbps. has anyone else experienced the same????? especially those who have bought an triband connection recently along with mtnl iptv. if so post your experience here and also give some results from speedtest.net. |

Rep Power: 5 | Had heard of it from a friend but I don't have iptv. I don't know for sure how it is possible. i think they are uncapping speed for iptv user. Last edited by Luke Skywalker; 08-15-09 at 10:25 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost |

Rep Power: 9 | For IPTV, a speed of 5 mbps plus is required. Normally the setup is done in such a way that only when the IPTV IP is accessed this speed is obtained but for other IPs through the DNS server, only normal speed is obtained. did you use any external speed test site to check the speed? |

| Junior Member | oh i am going to check next time i am at his place for sure. external speedtest may be the only way , but for now if anyone else does have this setup at their homes, then could please report your findings here along with the DNS servers in the Router setup...... |

Rep Power: 5 | mtnl/bsnl speed test is not accurate.. yes iptv does give 6mbps ( i too get a sync rate of 6mbps ) , but thats only for iptv and not normal downloads |
