Default MTNL has reduced the speed from 2Mbps to 256Kbps

I have a TriBand 256 unlimited broadband plan from MTNL Delhi. The download speed used to be 200-250 KBytes/sec, which is about 2Mbps. But from 1st January 2010, MTNL has reduced the speed to 20-25 KBytes/sec, which is really slow. Are other users in Delhi and Mumbai also getting this reduced speed?

We should all write to MTNL to restore the speed.

Actually, lazy MTNL officials have woken up and reviewed the speed of ur connection and now you are receiving the correct speed.

Day by day they are waking up,all old customers who were getting really high speeds are getting shocks :P

In limited download plan speed is 2Mbps(256Kbps) but if you take unlimited 256Kbps plan, download speed will be 32KBytes per second that is 256 divided by 8=32Kbps! So u r getting the right speed for your plan! Always go for unlimited connection, never opt for limited plan, u will repent later! In all other countries data caps or limited plans have been completely banned, they should implement the same for India soon! limited plans are a headache for all the customers..
