    Exclamation Mtnl upload speed problem

    Hello Everyone,
I frequently download many torrents using utorrent as my P2P client.
I am facing a strange upload speed problem.
My problem is that whenever I set my upload limit to more than 20KBps my net connection gets disconnected within hours. My routers status page shows "Waiting for responce". Only if I reboot my router the net connection is resumed.
When my upload limit is around 16KBps my net connection does not get disconnected for even a week, even if I keep downloading torrents.

Is someone facing similar problem or has a solution to my problem?

bro first of all check your upstream speed in your router
    its 512kbps or less ?
    and for better uploading..
    try utorrent 2.0

Complain about it to MTNL, they will surely fix it.
Do you have ur own router or it's the MTNL rented router?

are you serious! MTNL never fixes any problem, they are the worst.

Most of the net providers provides low upload speed except Airtel.

BTW i had lot of problems with MTNL @ no solution coz of the typcial goverment attitude ...so switched to Airtel.

    Unhappy

I have checked everything including upstream and downstream rate of my router. They are as they were before when I had no problems.

    I have my own router.

I also have tried complaining them, but each time my problem keeps repeating itself, it goes along the same cycle of 4 steps.
    THEY ARE
    1. I am downloading torrents with good seeds and peers.
    2. Suddenly the speeds start reducing such as 49, 47, 35, 26 to 0.0KBps.
    3. Any page on the internet also does not open. When I check my routers status page it shows "Pvc0 : Waiting for response " . Now when I call MTNL Customer care they guide me to do the same steps each time and at last they tell me to reboot my router which I know will solve the problem temporarily. I have also explained them that the problem occurs again and again. I even told them to check the status of my connection from their side when I have Waiting for Response on my routers status page, but they say its proper. I guess because Waiting for Response is an in between stage in which the connection is neither connected nor disconnected.
    4. I have to reboot my router to restore the connection, and each time they assure me that they have checked everything and the problem will not occur again.
THEN IT STARTS FROM STEP 1 ALL OVER AGAIN

Actually it was a coincidence that when I set my upload limit to 16KBPS the problem would not occur, now since last 5 to 6 days I am facing this problem in spite of what ever changes I make.

My IPTV is running fine in spite of what ever happens to my internet connection.
THIS INDICATES THAT THERE IS NO FAULT WITH MY ROUTER OR MY ADSL LINE.

IN SHORT MY PROBLEM IS “PVC0 : Waiting for Response”
ANYONE HAS EVER SEEN THIS MESSAGE ON THEIR ROUTERS STATUS PAGE OR GOT ANY DETAILS ABOUT IT.

PLEASE LET ME KNOW HOW TO FIX THIS.
    THANKS IN ADVANCE.

    ADSL LINE.
    1.
Even with the router switched off IPTV will work fine ! Test.
    2 & 3
nothing to do with IPTV. or telephone line ( after adsl splitter)
    Para two ;
    4.
    Mention your modem/router model/make number.
    5.
Post screen shot of ADSL data showing Mod mode selected SNR ATTN Line rate Rate power
    Rest not needed.
    6.
    Copy/Paste data ipconfig /all
    NO EDIT.
    7.
Changer Mod mode selected to GDMT and/or T413 or Glite . Uncheck ADSL2+
    AnnexM disabled.
    Keep bitswap enabled.
    8.
    Test speed at http://speed.airtelbroadband.in
    give data.

    Feedback.

    MY ROUTER IS DLINK DSL2640T.
    OTHER INFO IS
    Modulation ADSL_2plus
    Annex Mode Annex A

    Max Tx Power -38 dBm/Hz

    Item Downstream Upstream Unit
    SNR Margin 31 13 dB
    Line Attenuation 25 13 dB
    Data Rate 506 260 kbps

    Modulation Type ADSL2+ (Multi-Mode)

I cant post ipconfig data because its window only opens for a second and shuts automatically.
I am using vista, I guess because of that.

I cant find the adsl mod options which u have mensioned.
    Options in my router are
    Not Trained ,ADSL2+ (Multi-Mode), ADSL2+ (ITU G.992.5) ,ADSL2+ (ITU G.992.5) with DELT ,ADSL2+ (Multi-Mode except T1.413), ADSL2 (Multi-Mode), ADSL2 (ITU G.992.3,ADSL2 (ITU G.992.3) with DELT, RE-ADSL, RE-ADSL with DELT, ADSL (Multi-Mode), ADSL (ITU G.992.1), ADSL (ITU G.992.2), ADSL (ANSI T1.413) ,ADSL2+ (Multi-Mode except Annex M) ,ADSL2 (Annex M), ADSL2+ (Annex M)

I dont think speed test is essential.I am getting proper speeds.

    try this:
    http://www.indiabroadband.net/window...-vista-xp.html
    2.
    ADSL (G991) = GDMT
    select ADSL ( multimode)

    ://i34.tinypic.com/21bm2hs.jpg
    3. Speedtest:
speeds in torrent sites are not standard/
    For record/verification
    we usually test speed at
    speedguide.net
    or
    speedtest.net different servers
    or
    http://speed.airtelbroadband.in
Also varies depending on Internet conditions/

Try TCP optimizer from speedguide.net to tweak speed.

Guys you wont believe it, i got mtnl triband connection on 16/01/2010 and since that day till feb 17 i got download speeds of 2.4 MB/S even on utorrent i got 1.5 MB/S, speedtest.net it gave me speed of 19 mb/s and on 192.168.1.1 it showed
    downstream rate kb/s = 22532
    upstream rate kb/s = 1000

but on 18 feb, 2010 it has now reduced to

    downstream rate kb/s = 614
    upstream rate kb/s = 252

Due to mtnl introducing 512 kb/s on 599 plan upgrading from 256 kb/s

Is there any way i can get those high speeds back
During that one month i frequently visited several blogs and saw that few people got those speeds while others refrained from accepting it

pl help you guys look great in this computer stuff

pl reply i m desperate to get back those speeds

Default LOW Streaming Speed @ 1 mbps Triband

    Hi,
I recently got a 1 mbps triband connection at home. The download speed is very good. But when it comes to streaming videos say from Youtube, it is horrible. Normal videos, which I cud easily stream from my previous connection(reliance 400kbps), get streamed so slow that I'm very disappointed. Can anyone of you tell me if you face the same problem? What should I do about it? If my speed is 1 Mbps, I expect big videos to stream instantly. HELP!
