Getting Pings very high

from past 1 week i m getting high pings like 200ms from mumbai server itself..previously i used to get 30ms or 50 ms...hence i m getting huge lag in online games

i called 1504 n told them abt it...cc don know wat is ping WTF?
wat can b the reasons for high ping? wat should i do

well there is nothing much you can do about high pings , thats just the quality of service provided by the ISP.. hopefully things will get back to normal in a few days , do you face any disconnections ?

Try telling them you getting high "latency" to Mumbai server... Do a trace route and see how you connect to that server and you might get an answer yourself.

It could very well be congestion ..... give customer care another shot

Mumbai`s server is the **** server for ping test try chennai or Delhi..........
If problem remains then ask them to check your cable ............

Or at last go to there office.............

lineman came yesterday n checked the line...my frnd in same area has 50 ms ping from mumbai..n i m getting over 200ms

jus came bak from exchange ....receptionist did not allow me to meet the engineer A.P. singh who is in 6th floor..she was the same lady who allowed me to go 4th floor wher i got my 2mbps speed fixed 1 year bak...she had strict restrictions not to allow any one to meet any higher authority in the building(Kridbi bhavan) she asked me to get his permission...on mobile he told me he is in meeting n u cant meet me in person..give me ur telephone no i will c to it..
receptionist then sent me to 4th floor ..Network operating centre(NOC)
..they did some synchronization n told me to check...as no one was in home so i came bak to home n found it unsolved..called them ..they told they cant do anymore ..u hav to call 1504...WTF

..received 2 calls from a guy from mtnl...1st two calls were wasted in understanding wat is latency...he said he will discuss n call again

It is good. By the way i have found that MTNL dns server is going down again & again for me.

went again today...they sent me to server room...they found that ther is congestion in some ports which connect to nixi..
all isps in india get internet from NIXI

they sent email to nixi which included my traceroutes ...

now i hav to wait...

I too have problem, I think In fact my traceroute in not reaching for that. For google it is 70 & for twitter 281.897.

i m still getting 200ms ping from delhi server..but frnd is getting 50 ms
i think i hav been connected to bad port where traffic is high...
i will close n renew broadband plan in 1st march...will it change pings for me?

Its just mine or every one has high ping these days in Mumbai.
My internet connection is also showing above 200ms ping from last 2 days,
so i m also unable to play games online. I didn't make any complaint becoz
i know they don't understand what i m talking about or what is PING(Fcuking useless ashole).

I think i have to wait for some days if it will not improve, i guess i have to change my ISP. Anyone suggest some good ISP in Mumbai.

The main Problem with MTNL is their ping is very high but a good thing is that their rates are low...... So, it is mainly for downloaders not for online gamers.

If you want to play online games switch to Airtel.

I m using mtnl from last 3 years but ping had never gone high like that,
always stay at 40 to 65 but right now its just too high 220ms .
