Thread: MTNL TB is S|-||T !!!!!

I am exasperated with MTNL Triband.

I stay in Dadar, in Mumbai and have 1 MBPS connection which was recently upgraded from 512 KBPS for the same price. Earlier, I used to have DSL 849 plan, in which I used to get speeds upto 400Kbps and sometimes, the same exceeded 700 kbps too.

Since last month, even on a 1 mbps package, the speed is dismal. Disgusting speeds. Complained umpteen times through online bookings and whilst MTNL has been over prompt in calling thousands of times asking if the net works,, there has been no concrete action on the complaints!

Maximum speeds I get are 120 KBPS while their officials claim I should be getting 600 - 700 kbps of actual download speed!! 2 days back, the speed dropped to 179 bytes/sec,,,downloading even 15KB file became a PAIN !!!

Even now, I have lodged a complaint and nothing seems to be working.
I am not far from the main exchange at Prabhadevi,,not more than 750 metres. I am shitty exasperated. I have already applied for a speed downgrade,, coz it doesn't make sense paying 1000rs for a "1mbps" connection, where as, the speeds that i normally get don't go beyond 20kbps!!

I need a change of service operator. Suggestions welcome!

P.S: pardon my language. its just my irritation speaking!

Even I live at Prabhadevi and using the same plan.
But I have no such problems.

Are you neighbors, friends in that locality encountering the same problem ....No need to get worked up over it


No need to jump the gun, wanna commit suicide , then go ahead and dump MTNL BB for a pvt ISP

Are you using FF, name the extentions ......... is your OS uptodate ?

Could you be more specific.A clear description of the issues faced by you, would be better that a one liner ....
