Default How to configure Linksys WAG120N modem + router at my home?

    Guys,

I have bought a Linksys WAG120N router + modem for my home where I have an MTNL Triband broadband connection.

I have downloaded the settings from the Linksys support webpage, but I probably need the PCR and SCR (in cps) (as given in the attached image) settings for MTNL. Does anyone have a clue?

    Thanks in advance!

    Rgds,
    Navneet

Thanks essbebe... But I was asking the PCR and SCR values to be put in.

But it seems that I don't need to put those values in for MTNL as the QoS type to be selected is UBR - Unspecified Bit Rate. I'll try to set it up once I get home tonight.. and will post the results if I'm successful

@4navneet Even I got the WAG120N yesterday. I used PPPOE LLC mode. It works great. Use 0 and 32 for VPI and VCI values respectively. If you have any trouble in setting it up via PPPOE mode then feel free to ask me.

Please read the full thread. VPI/VCI given earlier.

    Step 4:
Select the Qos Type from the drop-down menu.
    NOTE:
UBR is for applications that are none-time sensitive,
CBR is to specify fixed bandwidth for voice or data traffic
VBR is for heavy traffic and bandwidth-sharing with other applications.

    Step 5:
If you've selected UBR for QoS, the Peak Cell Rate (PCR) and Sustain Cell Rate (SCR) rate are determined automatically. Otherwise, enter the desired PCR and SCR values.

NOTE: SCR sets the average cell rate that can be transmitted. The SCR value is normally less than the PCR value.

    @essbebe

I had read the full thread before replying. I wanted to suggest 4navneet to use PPPOE LLC mode instead of bridged mode. BTW, what is the difference in using bridged mode and other modes?

Did you get Installation Cd or user manual? along with the Modem/router ?

    Para two:
Anyway usually we have two choices
    in Wan Page
" Bridged" If selected you have to use Dialer in computer to connect . preferred usually for
    scheduling Free NU downloads.
    2.
PPP/PPPoE ""always On" ( what you have )
In wan page you enter your userID/PW
    and connection is automatic.
preferred for Port forwarding Torrent sites.

I am using PPPOE LLC mode and I wanted to know what is the difference if we use the bridged mode. I am using PPPOE LLC mode and hence I suggested the thread creator to use it. The bottom line is that user should get connected irrespective of the mode he uses. I have suggested and not forced anyone. The user has his own choice.
