Thread: Speed problem

I just got a new MTNL connection but the problem is the download speed is really bad.

I took the 768kbps unlimited plan

the speed test result show that i am getting 1 mbps download speed and 0.7mbps upload speed


awesome surfing speed but i am only getting 5 -10kbps download speed

i tried TCPoptimizer but it didnt help

so should i wait for few days in the hope that my speed will improve or should i launch a complaint!

its only 315kb/s wen i shud g8 80% of 512kb/s minimum as per TRAI guidelines

why dont you open your router settings by pointing your browser to 192.168.1.1


What's the connected speed it tells you? for Download? I think it might be 319 kbps hence you face the speed issue.

Call the helpline & ask them to rectify it.

the 'line downstream' is 751kb/s
is there a problem with my pc??

I called up the prabhadevi office and they said that it will be updated

How are you getting upload speed of 0.7 mbps?

It should be 0.22 mbps i.e 256 kbps.

That must be the problem or something...I was previously having 1 Mbps upload speed with 2 Mbps download speed but my connection used to go haywire I used to get like only 0.44 mb download speed....

I contacted them I didnt want too but I still did then they fixed the upload speed & now since that has happened I've never faced this issue.

Your from Mumbai, yes? Call them & tell them....there must be a problem with the gateway you connect too...get your upload speed as per the plan they offer.
