Default Trying to get Upload Speed increased

    Hey Guys & Gals lol

    So lets see humm...

I was getting 1 Mbps upload speed then it dropped down too 512 kbps actually it dropped to 256 kbps but I made some calls to their GM etc. back then around 10 months ago & I was getting 512 kbps upload speed.

I got my plan changed again from the Insomniac NU lol....and vollah my upload speed is back too 256 kbps.

I can't make a call to their GM again now for some reasons lol.

Anyway forget that, let's go the legal route,

They are charging Rs.500 per 256 kbps of extra speed.

So to get 512 kbps of upload speed I need to shell out Rs.500 more.

Fine by me I say. I mean obviously I would like it for free but umm can't do anything now lol.

So I call up 1500/1504....idiots tell me....This UPLOAD SPEED. They don't handle it.

I'm like say wha? Idiots, You change the plan when why not this?

Fine I was told to visit my local telephone exchange.

Which I visited, Firstly the Madam & Sir there say this TYPE OF THING DOESN'T HAPPEN! AISA NAHIN HOTA HAI! CHALO JAO! lol

Then after bickering another lady comes & I explain to her open your GOD DAMN site woman & see for yourself....

Then they're like ahh yes! okay write us a letter with a copy of your bill.

    I'm like wha? Idiots.

So okay. I kill my 1 full day. I write them a letter etc. etc.

    And Submit it.

I'm told this will be done. Applied for this on 28th April afternoon.

Today is 1st. No speed change. I'm like okay it's a holiday etc.

Besides I'll give them another week & wait & see.

All in all. Such pathetic service they got, they don't even know what type of features they have? I'm like! damn.

Secondly why are these idiots so rude I mean at offices etc. just rude rude RUDE!

I mean okay they have to meet say not so decent people everyday but heyy whats up with being rude to someone whose polite? Idiots.

So what about you guys? What's your upload speed like? Have any of you applied for an increament in it? I hear Delhi fellas get 1 mbps upload speeds still? Damn Y'all! lol.

test your speed for 2 or three days for further action.
    This website keeps the record.

    Ohh thanks for that.

But I can see my upload connected speed in the modem settings.

Previously it used to show 504 - 509 kbps...since I changed my plan its down to 248 - 252 kbps.

So I basically know where to look when it gets increased.

    But thx again.

    @Sonu
Presume you want more U/L speed than D/L speed. Please confirm.
But I can see my upload connected speed in the modem settings.
The speed you see in your modem is the max line rate and synchronised speed.
    Note they are different.
By testing speed at different speed test websites, you get the actual D/L U/L speed at different . times, net conditions etc.
wait...... just now speed upto 2 Mbps connection
    Mode: G.DMT
    Type: Interleave
    Line Coding: Trellis On
    Status: No Defect
    Link Power State: L0

    Downstream Upstream
    SNR Margin (dB): 23.1 14.0
    Attenuation (dB): 13.0 7.0
    Output Power (dBm): 12.2 -2.6
    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 11520 1440
    Rate (Kbps): 2560 1024
    Wait: testing speed NOW>

The point I am trying to make :
Upload speed synchronised to greater than D/L speed is not normal in ADSL broadband connection.
    usually a ratio of D/l 4 :1 U/L expected.
So I basically know where to look when it gets increased.
Certain suggestions/ comments/ tweaks/ are mentioned for benefit
of other members who browse any thread, now or later or for discussion.
    OFF TOPIC
I think MTNL does not count UPLOAD in usage ( position not checked now ), whereas all other ISPs take Data usage as D/L+ U/L.

REFERENCE: to change D/L U/L speeds for testing

    trial application.

    I get your drift buddy.

Yes MTNL doesn't count Upload speed. I know that.

The point I'm trying to make is I was on 512 kbps upload speed for mostly a year & my download was 2 Mbps. The year before I was on 2 Mbps dl / 1 Mbps Upload.

I got that in modem settings itself.

Oh well whatever...I'm still upto 30 KB/s max in upload as per your rule so no luck here.

I call them they say they haven't recieved the work order number etc.

    Oh Damn it.

I went again yesterday to the exchange they have issued a work order number I took down the number. So what's the problem!!!

I'll go again today & meet with the Area TriBand GM what else!
