Well mtnl does not block torrents. I myself use utorrent @ port 80 on my 256kbps mtnl connection and get good download speeds (around 26kbps) without port forwarding

Port forwarding concept and technique is the same in any router. The UI may be different. Please understand the concept and it will be very clear. For help, read this guide: Torrents and Port Fowarding Guide

    Default port forward

hi guys, its not that tuff to do port forwarding in this router of modem.
I have a step by step procedure for u guys.
    Here it is:

step 1: check your gateway ip
(see the network icon below on right hand side, click on that, there are 2 tabs general and support. click on support tab. and see the gateway ip, mostly it is 192.168.1.1)

step 2: open internet explorer or firefox whatever u use. And put that gateway ip in the address bar and press enter.

step 3: now it will ask for username and passwd. put your modem username and password. mostly by default it is username is admin and password also admin.

step 4: Now goto "Advanced" tab and click on it.

step 5: Now u will see options on the left side. There should be one option "Virtual Server", click on that.

step 6: Now u will be on the port forwarding page.
In private ip, u fill ur lan card ip. Your lan card ip will be same place where was your gateway ip, just above gateway ip.

step 7: in port box fill up the port number u want to forward and select the port type from the side select menu(TCP or UDP ports).

step 8: click on apply and then save and reboot.

step 9: "save and reboot" option will be in "misc" tab or in "firewall" tab, so u need to use ur mind also .

    gud luck

i m going to sleep now, really tired

i dont think port 8080 is never blocked??? if your in pppoe mode , you need to manually open ports

Port 8080 is exception. Because it was alternative to port 80 earlier if you don't have permission.

Default ADSL management port same as http webserver on LAN

    dear sir
i could see my webpage from local LAN PCs (from 192.168.1.4, ADSL 192.168.1.1 webserver on 192.168.1.10) but my fixed IP alloted when opened it shows the management page for adsl router instead of my port fwd page of 192.168.1.10:80 in virtual server under advacned as youd escribed below.

then i see that the manegement port is http 80

i changed and saved the management port to diff range 61000 still same problem i see admin authentication window instead of my "IT WORKS" when type my fixed IP (WAN side)

as said LAN side ip shows the "IT works"

    Whats happening here?
